And exactly how does a lone tank do this "whoring" while protecting the rear flags on say Zatar?

You missed the point, dude. I’m not talking about one engineer and his lonely tank, defending some flag.
This thread is about the engineer’s ability to repair other tanks while he’s driving and fighting in the same time.
I think this is a fantastic feature of the game and provide easy ways to abuse its power. This is a big helping hand given to tank whores.
The question I asked is: do we really need tank whores in this game?
If the answer is "no", then this ‘feature’ should be removed.
If the answer is “yes”, then I suggest the engineer should be able to repair his own vehicle, too. What?! He can repair others, but the magic doesn’t work on him, too?!

my misunderstanding, th way you structured your sentence COULD lead some, as i did to misconstrue the inflection to mean, a engineer shouldnt repair vehicles, he should be able to repair men (thats why i said we have medics to do that) LOL

You seem to misunderstand a lot. I never mentioned heal points. I was talking about engineers only. This is what I’ve said:

Please notice I didn’t mentioned anything about the repair points: these points could be revised, too, but are not the topic of this thread.

Yeah, I think this guy just got a taste of true teamwork of engies all running armor sticking together....great tactic, but in no way a new one. As far as the infantry weapons go...there is no unlock I would use, all standard weapons are better, especially at close up. If you need some distance, the MP7 is actually decent.

If more people who got the the tanks all ran engie, you would see more of these armor columns, and more squads actually coordinating with AT to take them down.

I like the Engie Kit, even in IO, the pump shotty on the US is great, unfortunately you have to bunny hop your a$$ close enough to shoot them lol.

But I will say one thing, this guy was playing engie on a map with no bombers. If he was, there is no group of armor than can stand up to a team in the air. A fighter and a bomber working together will destroy anything on the ground...especially if you have a great commander spotting everything

It is really BF, so whoring in a vehicle is 'part' of the game. And really, the only true tank whoring would be someone that is 'spawncamping' in armor. It is people like that whom give armor a bad rap...well, I think it is actually a lot of CS players.

and enginners are only useful at cqc and they dont get repair points that easily..i findthe class kindof boring since shotgun is useless for me since im more long-range type fighter and mines..well...if ur lucky u get some kills but i just dont like how mines bounche around and roll sometimes on their sides and u dont kno if theyre placed right...but wat adds fun is being in a tank and yeah i dont do that either

if u mean armor combat, it can still be possible 2 pwn them(unless its 1 tank vs 2 tank, all engineer, which i haven encountered yet). in this situation, from my experience, there is no turning back if u fight in terrain with limited cover. i managed 2 pwn a apc and a tank(but at the cost of my life lol:p :p :p ), just pray tat they miss their shot and dun forget tat who strike first wins
PS: anibody noes tat how much damage a .50 cal machine gun(mounted on tank) can do 2 another tank???

It is a half bar per shot in the track area if I am not mistaken

Engineers are not gods in a tank!!! One shot of the TOW, or TV Guided Missle will leave them in a pile of ash. Let alone 2 ATs that know where to hit the tank for max damage!! Engineers are by no means gods on treads. I play an engineer a lot and even have tag teamed up with and APC or other tank driven by an engineer, and we have both had our @sses handed to us on a platter.

It is hard enough to get people to play engineers, so why nerf them anymore than they already are.....there I have vented!!! LOL
