Presto, that would be the trick right there for making the engy class more competitive. Personally I think that the Saiga 12k is the best shotty in the game. It seems to be more accurate than the Dao-12 Protecta and M3 Jackhammer while delivering a good but not overpowered. The Remington M11-87 and Norinco 982 are more powerful of course but somtimes they miss shots to the point where it doesn't make sense, thus leaving the user extremely vulnerable in between shots.

Have you tried the Bernelli M4 in EF? That is the best shotgun in the game IMO.

In fact no, because of all of the bad comments I heard about EF I opted not to buy it.

i don't really get wad u mean since your "tank whoring" is a bit subjective. i mean what you have 2 do just 2 be called a tank whore??? pwning other armor??? BTW engineers are just like icing on the cake with the cake being the tanks and other vec. they are just complimenting each other...:p

All you have to do is get a squad of 3 or 4 ATs and bust up some armor.

Ok.
Let’s analyze what a squad of ‘usual’ size, let’s say of 4 men, can do:

Scenario #1 – 4 AT guys:
SL turns to his men and says:
-Listen up, men, let’s synchronize our watches at my mark.
Three!
Two!
One!
Mark!
-Our target is the right tank. At 00:00 we attack all at once. Any questions?
When the time comes, they jump out of their hidings and fire at the target. 3 rockets hit the right tank, while 1 rocket hit the left tank.
After a couple of tank rounds and MG fire, the squad is dead.
The dead SL: - Hey, Bill, I’ve told you to shoot at the right tank, why didn’t you listen to me and targeted the left tank?!
Bill: - Sorry, Sir, that tank seemed just right to me…

Scenario #2 – 4 SpecOps:
SL: - Men, this is what we’ve trained for, this is the day!
-Sir, there’s 4 of us, shouldn’t we combine the magic of C4 and throw it 4 times the normal distance?
-C4 is not listed as a magical device, haven’t you read the manual?!

Scenario #3 – 4 Medics:
-Did anybody called for a shot? We have what you want…

Scenario #4 – A mixed squad, 3 assault guys and 1 SpecOps as their SL.
SL: - Ok guys, here’s the deal: I need some cover from you, use your smoke grenades in timed succession. I want to get close to our targets. Ready?
The smoke is everywhere. SL is running and running and finally he finds a vehicle.
He plants the C4, and then he realizes it is Jeep One, his commander’s jeep.
-Sir, I need this vehicle, Sir!
-Ok, take it, but bring it back in one piece. It was a gift from my father…
-Yes Sir!
As our SL is moving away, he thinks: “Hehe, I’ll send you one piece…”

Scenario #5
An old lady, with a bag full of C4, is walking slowly to them. She asks them:
-Could someone help an old woman to cross the street? –Get lost!
-At least, let me rest a little here, near your tank. –Move it! Hey, Bill, shoot that b**ch!
-Ok. Ok, I’m going…
She leaves the bag without anyone noticing, then she presses the button as soon as she is safer away.
-This is no way to talk to a lady!

i think from the sounds of it you have maybe witnessed two engys side by side repairing each other, and they maybe had a lucky long innings whilst you were watching, and this has provoked you to stereotype the whole engy class in one quick flick of the pen.

i was reading with genuine interest until you typed the lines:

i came to the conclusion that;

a) that would not even closely mimic real life practise

b) think medic class????????????

i am playing a lot recently as engy having never played before and IMHO think repair points are fairly hard to achieve in the normal run of things. damn site harder to get than heal or reveive points!!! but i dont see you asking for those to be changed.

also you slag of engys saying they are cat equivalents hiding behind armour, well generally speaking, and not being to immature here, thats what you would expect, ready to repair vehicles.

dont forget think about all the driver ability assists engys have afforded you over your bf2 career whilst travelling in a heli or transport!!!!!!!

I beg your pardon. And exactly how does a lone tank do this "whoring" while protecting the rear flags on say Zatar?
