Okay total air n00b here.
I just bought myself a Logitech Extreme 3D joystick and properly set it up according to the pictures people posted in related threads.
Now I tried flying with keyboard and mouse before but they never worked out. I couldnt last more than 15 seconds before crashing so basically I never figured out exactly how things worked in an aircraft. Then I learned that a joystick would help. Guess I was wrong...
I did do lots of searches and found plenty of guides and tips for being a pilot. But all of them are way too advanced for me. My problem is I can't get a plane to fly without crashing, let alone those fancy maneuvers.
I know the slider controls the throttle, x-axis is body roll, y-axis is pitch and rotation is steering. But how come once in the air, I'm always rolling left and right, pitching up and down, and none of the controls seemed to be working? I always ended up falling in the sea or crashing into the carrier. I put the slider on max throttle but the plane would not go forward? I point the nose up but instead of climibing up into the sky it made a free fall right into the sea? I tried to steer but instead it started to roll? And why would it keep rolling when I never told it to roll anyway?
I know for a fact that the joy stick is working correctly because I'm able to test out all these controls when the plane is on the ground. It's just that once it's in the air things are all messed up.
This is getting so embarrassing and frustrating. I must be really slow on this. Please someone help me!!
