Sign On Pissing Me Off!

Everytime I trying playing Battlefield 2 I trying logging in and it takes like hours to sign on and when Im like of forget it and im on 6mbps connection and now its not even logging in its just showing map background and the 2 sign and thats really ticking me off wtf is the problem!!?

hmmm, thats strange...i cant help you with this one but have you tried reinstalling BF2?

Try deleting all of your favorites through your general.con file. If you have a LOT of red ones, they add 5 seconds to login time...

/\ I could see that being the solution...but to cover all bases please list if you're using any firewall/anti-virus etc along with system specs.

Try deleting all of your favorites through your general.con file. If you have a LOT of red ones, they add 5 seconds to login time...

make sure your favorites are trimmed to active servers only.

you ever try to use a third party launch program? I have used several in the past and I just started using Qtracker in the last few weeks. It will pull up all the maps you want and log straight into the server to play, bypassing movies and logon screen.

It takes a little bit of time to DL the servers since there are 4000+ but when you find the one you want, you just click to launch and walk away while everything loads up.

yea, there was a great one that stopped getting developed on when one of the patches...I think it was 1.3 or maybe 1.22 that broke it. But is was really lite. I was called BF2Autoloader. Really simple and lite. I miss using it

but does that really matter here? I mean, the overhead of decrypting the SSL might not be worth it. This is not your Bank of America website ya know?

Alright issue resolved thanks for your help but now!! I cant go in servers when I click it my BF2 closes in a heartbeat now whats that...?

I didnt add nothing to BF2 no mods no nothing everything is at default except video settings and audio settings.

i had this problem until someone suggested i delete all non-active servers in my favorites. so now that i only have active servers in my list the game logs me in in about 4-5 seconds. though i didnt delete the .con file, i went in game to delete the non-active servers.
