It's in no way against the ROE. Even after 16months of gameplay - The ROE have not clarified this definition - but what I do know is that this sort of server is not under that definition...

As the screenshot says, the round lasted 1 and half hours.

As the ROE says:

1.4 Maps

1.4.1 Custom maps are never permitted on ranked servers, although we do permit map sizes to be defined independently of maximum players.

So that does not qualify as high points server. The rounds just last really long, and you don't really get any "more" points per time played than you would in other play. You just get higher round scores.

For those that do not, here is what Dice has to say on the matter:

Really it falls to an admin. If admins are running a 64 size map sever with a small population wracking up points then thats a violation

However it is ambiguous on purpose because I do not want to dictate exactly how you must run your servers. Even though there are some who try to hurt the system through exploitation and poor sportsmanship I do not want to punish the proper upstanding admins who are just trying to have a quality server environment.

In my opinion, that IS a HPS. It's also boring as all hell. Sitting in a server with the same map for over an hour? No thanks. You might say it is NOT a high point server, but the sole purpose of having the largest map is to gain high points, it sure is not for the competition or the teamwork aspect. It's somewhat hard to deny it.
The basic characteristics of a server like that is hardly any different than a knife and pistol server, aside from the obvious weapon limitations. It's abuse of the stat system overall.
-Small max # of players
-Largest possible maps
-Rounds last forever
-Outcome is 400+ points per round typical.

Ive played over 1000 hours and I can tell you that the game probably lasted well over an hour. I also think this might be considered a high points server, which is against the Rules Of Engagement.
With all that said, you can read the ROE yourself and you will see that it leaves a lot of things in a gray area. This type of server, 64 player map 64 slots open and only 16 players present, is in the gray area. Like a lot of things EA has done, the Roe also wasnt done very well. I say play at your own risk.
They really should have left the people who designed the game and those who did all the work on it originally in charge of the game, for the life of the game or at least longer than they did. It was and is being treated like the red headed step child that no one really wants to over see or take the blame for when it doesnt behave right. Thats why I often feel very sad because it could have been so much more, it was in the begining. They just want to baby set it untill they can get it out the door for good. Its just sad. . . . . . . . . . .Red
