Thinking of Buying the Game, But I Want To Ask Some Questions

    1) is online good? i hear it is good but also not very good cause there is not deathmatch. so is it fun online and what type of modes are there just Capture the Flag?

2)How many people are usually online? i know socom 3 has like 1000 people on at any given time and i play CoD:Big red one and there are not to many games so that mean that not many people play it online. does battlefield:MC (PS2) have alot of people online at any given time cause i dont want a game that no one plays. also is there like a ticker that says how many people are online?

3)and should i buy it? im starting to buy war games for online play and is this a good one to get? or should i buy socom 3?

    thanks a lot for answering

ps-this is modern combat for ps2

Try the free BF2 Demo first. Gameplay is significantly different from the retail versions, its more fluid and free. Give the game a chance and dont make a decision until youve got at least 10 hours in it. after you get the point of the game, youll either love it, or like it

        1. Online is what makes up most of the game. The stat system (ranks) using medals, badges, etc. Multiplay is just as the same as any other games. Game modes are conquest, where your team tries to get the most tickets by capping flags. Another ic called coop, meant of peoople tired of conquest, or want some teamwork involved. Coop is bot vs. human(s). The last is singleplayer, when you and your team vs bots.

        2. THere are millions of registered bf2 players, but only a few thousand are on now. THere are usually an average of 3000 bf2 ranked and unranked servers.

        3. Get the demo first and see if it is right for you.

Yes, try the Demo! CTF is very different version in BF2. It is a big step from most FPS games. Most servers will have anywhere from 20-64 people. This is one of the best games out there (aside from some technical software problems), but it is for a certain type of gamer. It can be a game for individuals, but it is best when you are working with several other players to accomplish goals, like in CTF.

            THE REAL ANSWER:

its not capture the flag (ctf). It's called conquest (a very innovative game mode introduced in bf42 and even earlier in the codename eagle project).

Here's the deal. Lets say there are 5 flags on the map.

You start at a flag that you're team owns.

You "take" flags by simply standing close enough to the flag to allow it to lower (during this time - the enemy can still spawn there until their flag is dropped). If the flag does not go down - it's because an enemy is also in that base. Seek and destroy (he'll probably do the same) and begin to lower the flag.

PS - the more freindlies in the "flagzone" the faster the flag drops. YOU plus one friendly will start lowering the flag even if an enemy is also within the flagzone.

Once your flag raises to the top -it is your base and your assets begin to spawn (tanks vehicles yada yada yada). The enemy can take your base if they kill you all and stand in the flagzone.

            HOW DO YOU WIN?

Whoever holds the most flagpoints (3 out of 5 lets say) begins to "bleed" the enemy "tickets". You start with around 250 tickets. If those go to zero (0) you lose.

If you die - one ticket is taken off your team. If you don't hold the majority of the flagpoints - your tickets will slowly fall.

            thats it.

Basically it's a close emulation of a real battlezone. Outposts are lost or disbuted (grey flags means no one owns it) and they begin to push your line. Keep the tank columns in line - make sure your squad does what they should - and you should be in for one intense battle.

Jets screaming over you. Helicoptors cutting the sky. Tanks rumbling the ground - and gunfire all around you. Welcome to the battlefield.

            DEMO:
            ftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/demo...field2demo.exe

PS - there are capture the flag add-ons (free made by community) that you can download to enjoy true capture the flag gameplay. There is no "last mand standing" or "Deathmatch" mods that I know of.

It's not like Quake or Unreal Tournament if that is what you are expecting. Those game modes would be somewhat out of place within the graphical representation of BF2.
Try the demo as stated previously.

buy 2142 or bf vietnam or something else, bf2 is simply not worth your money due to its wide asortment of gameplay problems. for instance, i dont play any map with pla vs us carrier, because aa is so screwed up for every jet except the f35.

I've racked up well over 1000 hours (over 2 accounts as I had to start again when I left my old clan) on this game. I brought it day one. For all the problems people face (I've been quite lucky and don't seem to have many perhaps because my PC isn't too bad?) you'll notice they've still racked up lots of hours too. For value for money I can't fault it.

Now lets hope 2142 is just as much fun with fewer bugs.

If you really want to play war games online you are in the right place. There's no other game like BF series. Always there are a lot of people playing. I'm from Chile, and I always find servers with players with good ping. So:

                    - First, play the bf2 demo.
                    - Second, wait for the upcoming BF2142 demo (it should be out before 10/17)
                    - Thirth, buy BF2142, hahah... no really, wait for BF2142 until buying anything. Nobody really knows what's going to happend when BF2142 launches. It could be a great dissapointment or a great hit. For that, WAIT.

The question is, are you talking about the PS2 version, or the PC version? I think you're speaking of Modern Combat, which is worthless, and I doubt anybody plays it online...so spare yourself, The PC version is worth it completely, and I suggest getting it.

                              PS2 BF2 Modern Combat Forum

Try here, you might get bias opinions since like this forum it's mostly users and fans of the game posting, but it's worth a shot.

If you do think about getting BF2 for PC , beware it's a pretty big hog for resources and graphics so you need a decent computer to play it.
