...yes, but that doesnt answer my question. so far the only way i have been able to disable a claymore myself is to walk in front of it. Which as you can imagine is somewhat detremental to my health.

Why not make them like the C4 and give the sniper a detonator? I know the idea is that they are defensive weapons but you cant please everyone and I think that it would give a certain amount of balance to the problem.

You have to come from behind the claymore with your wrench in order to diffuse it. Which is why it is still a problem because most claymores are not in an open enough area where you can come from behind. And about the idea of just killing the sniper is not good. Most snipers are not around the flag or wherever they dropped the claymore. They drop it and run. I just wish FF was on for claymores on all servers.

I know, there is a long thread about it and this topic has been discussed to death. :p
If you make claymores destructible, everyone would just throw a grenade in advance, just to be safe and then go forth, so the poor sniper would be left defenseless.
On the other hand, if claymores are not destructible, like it is today, it becomes an easy way to score kills just protecting the usual flags or leaving it carelessly everywhere, even in plain sight.
Instead of making the claymore destructible again, I think a claymore should be directly linked to the sniper that dropped it and killing him should instantly destroy the claymore.
What if a sniper could have a certain radius around him, exactly like a flag does, where his claymores would be active? As soon as he moves farther away and the claymore left behind is out of range, it should deactivate itself and disappear.

If a sniper drops claymores near a flag, he should be close enough to keep them activated, so an attacker could simply look for the sniper first, kill him, then cap the flag.
So you can destroy a claymore indirectly by killing the sniper that armed it.
Do you like or hate the idea?
                            This is another post:

Simple! And fun for both. If you kill him, the claymore is gone and you can resume your action at the flag.
Or let’s talk about a rabbit-sniper, dropping a claymore in front of you and jumping around. You kill him pronto and the claymore is no more. Easy!
Assuming they could and would implement this idea, would you like it or not?
                            I hope it's clearer now.

The best thing to solve the prob is that U can destroy it by throwing a nade on it or hit it with Ur rifle(its a explosive ffs) or destroy it with arty

                                Re: Claymore solution

Many Snipers drop Claymores when trying cap a flag (yes, some just spam), When they leave the claymore is left behind. If the Claymore could be picked up by the sniper this might go a long way towards stopping the claywhoring going on. I will be the first to admit if someone is chasing me around a building I will drop a claymore to kill them. I will lay claymores in an area that I believe the enemy will eventually walk through. This is a valid military used tactic. Not all Claymores need a clacker (detonator) to explode.

Engineers should be able to deactivate them just as they can AT mines.

After a Sniper dies the Claymores disapear much faster than they did with 1.3, Before I could lay 2, die and lay 4 more, Those first 2 would stay until I died agian or they went off. Now I lay 2 die, respawn, lay 2 more and the first 2 disapear. Every now and then u can have 3 down with 1.4 but I have yet to have 4 down at once.

Making the clays only work within the Snipers radius will only be viable under 2 conditions 1. make C4 only work from a radius as well. 2. Make both C4 and Clays recoverable by the person using their kits.
