Am i the only one who still gets horribly lost on iron gator? whenever i think i should be at a flag it says im on the wrong floor or when it says i should be in the next room i try to find my way around the hall and end up wandering in circles for 5 minutes. do any of you know any tricks to finding your way about the carrier?

Re: The SF Maze
It took me quite a while of playing Iron Gator to get used to it. I still haven't gotten used to it in fact.
I suggest you join US and "explore" the ship till the MEC make their first move. Following others and reading signs helps.Comment

Re: The SF Maze
The only advice I can really give is read the signs. I had the same problem it takes about ~3 hours to get accustomed to the level, it just takes time like any map you start realizing areas.Originally posted by sassbackAm i the only one who still gets horribly lost on iron gator? whenever i think i should be at a flag it says im on the wrong floor or when it says i should be in the next room i try to find my way around the hall and end up wandering in circles for 5 minutes. do any of you know any tricks to finding your way about the carrier?Comment

Yeah, there are signs all over the place that tell you were you can/ are going. Look by the doorways and stairwells.Originally posted by EAGLE_18The only advice I can really give is read the signs. Second, the Hangar Bay is connected to the Hangar Bay fore flag (hence they are both hangar bay). The First Floor mess hall is downstairs from the Hangar Bay fore flag. The First Floor mess hall is on the same floor and straight accross from the First Floor engine room (hence they are both first floor). The engine room is just down stairs from the flight Deck, which is on the topside and next to the viewing Deck (hence they are both on deck), the viewing deck is up any one of the ladders in the middle of the carrier.
These are the easiest ways to get around, and just a general understanding of the map. These are not necessarily the stealthiest or best ways to get around, but once you get your bearings you will find other ways around the carrier.Comment

Re: The SF Maze
I hate that map ^^ I am always a squadmember there so that I can follow my squadleader around
.
And try to imagine what happens if you play it on IO. The flags are on other spots then... "Where the f*ck did that flag go" ^^Comment

Re: The SF Maze
Yup, Iron Gator has to be the worst SF map.. I never play it.
The story line sucks, the coding is horrible and causes un-playable lag in certain areas of the map, the balance is way off (MECSF has almost no chance unless US Navy SEALs have no clue what they are doing); the carrier is an absolute rat maze, etc.Comment

Re: The SF Maze
It took me a while to apreciate Iron gator, especially learning to get around the ship, but once i got my bearings it turned out to be a real fun shoot em up.
The only thing I don't like is the Chopper whoring on the Deck. I would love to play this IO but the Mec would never be able to get to the ship.
It's also the best way to get your time in as MEC SF and Seals.Comment

Re: The SF Maze
Just keep playing you will eventually learn Iron Gator....it has to be the worst layout, but that adds to the fun chaos on the carrier... bullets and nades flying all around you. The 3d depth to the carrier stinks for the Commander because you cant tell your team on what level the enemy is on, just what flag they are near!!
If all else fails....read the blue and white signs and follow the arrows to the next flag...lolComment
