The GUID you supplied was logged using a cheat that tried to prevent
detection by PB. The method used is considered by us to interfere with
the way PB is designed to work, therefore violating our EULA.



so now I have to fork up the $$ for a new game so that I can play again. They won't help me anymore on this issue.

Be advised that a new cd key (buying a new game) will not help you...
The 'cheat' tried to 'prevent detection by PB', which means you have a hardware ban as well..
So if you buy a new cd key, and install with it and try to play, PB will come up with a Hardware ban error...

You will need to buy new hardware as well... a Harddisk and new networkcard at the very least...

Don't just take my word for it, but ask others as well about it, before you decide to spend any more money...

BF2142 throws an error if the date is incorrect, havnt tried with BF2( my PC keeps forgetting the date ), I would however keep pestering them until they sort it out, I would NEVER pay again for something i already have especially if its not my fault

I totally agree I would never pay for something that I had already, Keep on the case and something will happen.

Take them to small claims court...it will probably cost about $65.00 to file, but if/when you win they will have to reimberse you. Most likely they will unban you to not have to show up.

I hope it's not a hardware ban. I will find out later today though. I'm going to try and install it my other computer and see if the key works in that one.

NO, I do not know for sure what caused the ban, but I did just find out that my computer had the wrong date when it was installed. It was set for December 2006. This may or may not be the problem. I don't know if PB looks at the date or not.

I have done this numerous times for different programs that expire and never have I encountered an error with BF2/PB.

Probably using a cheat or somebody who used your computer; just gotta balls up and admit it. There have been accidents with PB but it is not likely.

PB is more prone to screw ups than EA/Dice. The program barely works and it catches very few people. Most of the time it nails people for silly stuff like having the date wrong? WTF kind of a hack is having the date wrong? Maybe instead of GUID banning him, it could have said "Your date appears to be wrong, please change this or you will be banned." But what does the date have to do with PB or running a hack? If your date is off, does PB use the wrong set of hacks to scan for or something? The whole situation here (assuming OP is 100% truthful, and I do believe he is) is upsurd. I would hassle them consistently until they fix this because I know they can reverse it.

Furthermore, if you are somehow hardware banned, don't waste your money on any PB enabled game in the future because you won't be able to play unless you get new hardware or otherwise find a way around it.

This worries me because i can't count on both hands how many times i've booted up my pc, only to find that the clock is 3 hrs behind. Maybe this is a XP problem. I will sue micro**** if they get me banned because thier operating systems are made out of lincoln logs...

I doubt he will have a HW ban. The email he received was just a canned responce from PB. I got the exact same email after I was GUID banned for the most hanus crime of renaming my BF2.exe.
'Lucky' for me after 3 weeks of emails back and forth, someone actually bothered to look into the circumstances surrounding the ban and it was lifted.
