You obviously dont know what your talking about, but thats pretty much par for the course around here. We have nothing in common? Other than trying to recreate the Maps, Vehicles, weapons, game modes, and Physics, no, we have nothing in common.

We are all fans of DC on this DEV team, and thats why we are making Desert Conflict. Its nothing more than a serious dedication to our favorite game ever (DC). BF2 was supposed to be DC part 2, didnt quite work out that way.

Play whatever game you want, it wont effect my paycheck.

I do know what I am talking about. You guys are using the name Dcon to con people into thinking that your mod is DC from 1942. Like I said if you named it anything else with all the same jazz about restoring their gameplay and such then you would not be getting any attention. If you guys were serious about not trying to pass off as them then you would have a different name. I can think of several off the top of my head: Gulf War mod, Liberation of Kuwait mod (LoK), Desert Storm mod, etc... If you guys had picked an original name then I would have a lot more respect for your team and this whole DC issue would not even exisit.

That said, I like some of the work I have seen from you guys. Especially the MRLS and arty system. I cant wait to see how that works out. I loved the 1942 game a lot. I played DC, DCF, and DCX. It was great for its day and I really enjoyed it, but with whats out now from BF2 to PoE2 I would never go back to DC personally.

I wish you guys the best of luck, but taking that name has made a lot of people think you ARE that DC mod from 1942 and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Ok, ok.... I did not start this thread to generate controversy, I merely was bored and found some old classic vids of DC that I put out there and "I" associated with Desert Conflicts up coming release because of the similar themes and time table. I played a ton of DC,DCF, and DCX,Ah the long days in the Hall of Slain Server....., so I know what Im talking about as well..

Everyone go back to your corners and settle down and just enjoy all the free mods or if you don't enjoy them don't play them.

You really have zero idea what you’re talking about. How are they deceiving the community? They have said they’re not the same DC team, they’ve answered all of your (the community) questions; well expect the release date lol. If you stop spewing your venom for a minute, take the time and look at their site, you will see in their site banner, on some of their sigs and even the PR guys will you, THEY HAVE NO AFFILIATION WITH THE ORIGINAL DC TEAM, what else do you want from them? Change their name because very few people think they’re unoriginal? Who the hell are you guys to even say anything?
I guess Hyundai Automotive and Sanyo Electronics are deceiving people too, right?

They’re getting this type of attention because they’re show off their products, and not because of their name. They can call themselves whatever they want, but if the product sucks then the mod sucks period.

If you like USI so much and think they’re “original” then why bother even playing DCon? if your internet honor LOL tells you the mods name is unoriginal and it leaves a bad taste in your mouth, why even bother trying it.

I never understand why people feel the need to come here and bash mods. Some of you need to realize these DEVS do it for FREE, on their spare time FOR US to enjoy, so unless you have a positive criticism to post, keep your trap shut.

I have respect for all mods. I just dont like their deceptive name. Also speaking of their site it says "the sandstorm is coming again" which I would take as this is their second mod. The truth is these guys are NOT DC and the sandstorm has never come for them. This is their first mod and are trying to use the good DC name to get people to play their work.

Anyway I am done with this. I would rather spend my time talking about BF2 and its other mods that I enjoy along with the boosters and expansions. We can agree to disagree on the Dcon issue.

The title of this thread was about DC vids and his anticipated release of DCON. They didnt use the name to deceive anyone, so stop talking crap. Nobody here agrees with that but you. Its a cool name, and they shouldnt have to change it. There giving a free game to DC fans, and I plan to benefit from all thier hard work.

"The sandstorm is comming again" Made perfect sense to me when I looked through the dcon site. Nowhere do they claim any affiliation to DC, at all. They show right thier in black and white thier goals.

I think this mod is for people who want to play those maps and such, on the BF2 engine, nothing more.

You have played as much DCON as the rest of us, ZERO!!! So why would you know anything about what the mod will be like in terms of gameplay?


Troybob is correct, "Judgement Day" was my favorite. Great action and awesome directing as well. I miss DC maps more than anything.

At least in FH2 and Pirates 2 you know it will be a totally different experience, and that's maybe why it's taking so long to develop those mods. Even USI seems a little different, from what i've seen this mod will be JUST LIKE vBF2 except for new vehicles, the odd new weapon and new maps.

I bet this mod will be nothing like DC except for the maps and the vehicles and the weapons, even then the vehicles and weapons will probably be just like vBF2 except for some minor tweaks here and there.

We have been beta testing our Maps and Game Modes for quite some time. No date of course, but we are nearing a release.

The truth is, you are too stubborn to acknowledge the difference (as I said it's on their banner and some of their sigs), not their problem.

If you’re that hostile toward this mod, then by all means DON”T PLAY IT, no one will miss you.

Hope it was well worth paying money for new maps and vehicles
