    TK Punish

I know this has been argued about almost to the death its just something I had hoped would have been reviewed during the last patch.

We all know how irritating it is to get punished for accidental TK's, usually by some noob who was probably at fault for the TK anyway. This is my pet hate, ive said it so many times before , as have others but the punishment system really needs tweaking. While I agree in principal withthe punishment system as a deterant for making intentional TK's or for punishing for acts of blaitant disregard of team mates, I don't agree with many BF2 gamers use the system.

To encourage the use of the forgive option I think players should be awareded a teamplay point for each forgive they make, whilest still automatically taking away the standard TK points from the guy making the TK, and only taking the additional points away should the TK-ed party decide to punish.

I think this simple soloution of compensating a TK victim with a point or two for forgiving their team mate would help reduce the problems with noob-punishers. I know others thinkt he same as I;'ve seen this discussed before, again I'm just disapointed that this hasnt been patched into the game.

Sorry for bringing up an old topic, just needed to vent my frustrations a little after suffering dearly gaming last night for inintentional TKs - I hit a chopper with a tank shell. Problem was I was aiming for an infantry man, missed him but hit our attack chopper that the pilot had wisely decided to land onthe ground a few feet behind my skirmish, resulting in me accidentally shelling a chopper. God knows why he was landing a choper on Sharqi...

I also frequently get punished for my own team parking and leaving a vehicle on mines I set, or punishing for being hit by the claymores I lay and that enemy units set off.

You just cant win sometimes lol

    Anyway discuss/flame/spam away...

    Re: TK Punish

I rarely punish. I memorably punished one player who after joining his squad tk'd me 4 times. 1st time I forgave him, but he kept on shooting at me in his tank so I left his squad and still he carried on. I ended up punishing 3 times and after the last time he was kicked. I wouldn't care I had only just joined the server so he couldn't have a grudge.

The only other time I can think of was when I was TK'd when running for an APC as MEC on Karkand by the other APC. He said sorry but I noticed his clan mate jump in right behind me and I thought.... hmmmm sorry my **** you saw me spawn but wanted your mate to have it.

On the flip side, I am rarely forgiven for a TK. I was forgiven last night which was novel.

I was taking a bead on a sniper from the top of TV station on Warlord when another sniper on my team moved in front of me and my cross-hairs just as I shot. Made me chuckle and I guess he realised his mistake.

I always take a second to think before I act - was it my fault or an accident or mistaken identity. It seems some people are incapable of thought and that's something we just have to live with...

I think it's a cool idea, I hate it when people punish for TK.

Or when people forgive you lose 0 points. I mean come ON, you forgave them, meaning it was an accident, and they still lost points.

I forgive all but the most stupid TK, although I agree, I rarely get forgiven.

Lol you wouldn't' believe what happened to me on Gulf of Oman the other night. I was on one side of the map in an APC, fired a couple of random shots into the air (I always do that for some reason) and it turns out I hit one of my teammates on the other side of the map. How unlucky is that? He punished me too.

I think TKs should be punishable. Everyone has to have "Situation Awareness". Also TKs may be due to that its hard to figure out friend from foe.

Some TKs are rediculous, Commanders need to use "Situation Awareness" before artying the hell out of enemy flags (happened to me last night, I was the only one in the South Base capping the flag, almost had it to nutral, and I get artyed by my Commander) (hoped out of a tank to cap a flag and get ran over, stupid stuff)

Maybe punished TKs shouldnt take away points, 3 TKs and your kicked from the server, or make the TKs take away less points like .5 so 2TKs = 1 point off your score.

I know most TKs are accident, so they shouldnt take TKs away, it will make you a better player and have "Situation Awareness", and make the punishment a little less severe.

Man, that's the most poorly thought out suggestion I have seen in a while. Points for forgives? It took me all of about half a second to envision servers full of padders kiling, reviving and forgiving each other in a big ol' cheatin' padfest.

Never understood that runways aren't a TK-free zone for pilots during take-off.

The most constant and rediculous punishing takes place around aircrafts.

I only punish for a TK when I know it isn't accidental... and I know when it isn't.

No, because the person who initially commited the TK would still get points taken away for the TK, but would recive further point deductions for the Punish. The person who forgives geta 1 point increase, meaning the TKer still gets a punishement, just not as severe as if the victim choses to punish. That way who ever is in co-hoots with the "forgiver", will end up losing points, so therefore it will make them reluctant to help out becuase there are nobenefits for them as they lose points. It would make it much more awkward for them to use a second account to do this too.

Also, worst case scenario, servers could and can be, easily be configured to auto boot after a set amount of TK's anyway to prevent excessive stat boosting via a forgiveness point system. That is if an admin didnt boot them first, not exactly inconspicious when a layer makes excessive TKs is it?

I suggest you read posts before getting your flame stick out in future, its an adaquet way of encouraging forgiving accidental TK's, because the current system doesnt work becuase of lame kids who automatically just click "punish" before thinking, much like noobs who automatically reply stupid responses in forums without reading and thinking it through,...

I myself rarely punish unless i know it wasnt by accident. But a sotry for you, yesterday i was in the attack chopper (flying) with a clan member (gunning) on Gulf of Oman. So one of our teammates was getting attacked by an apc and bailed from his tank and started running from the apc, so my gunner fired a TV took out the apc and accidentally killed our teammate. So what does the NOOB do? He punishes my clan member for trying to save him..... I can't stand that crap, we try to save someone and my clanmate gets punished...how stupid.

I always forgive even if I am not sure whether or not it is intentional. Ofcourse if they are being twats then yes I punish.

Thats a good idea. I usually always forgive unless it was intentional or pure stupidity.

What's the point? Why should some noob you tk'ed do you a favour and forgive you so YOU won't lost points?
The 1-point-giving idea is great. Never thought of that.

Speaking of which, I played on dragonvalley today as china, respawned and saw one of our choppers taking off, without a gunner.
Sent a "need pickup" radio command for about two times, the pilot wasn't listening, so I pulled out my pistol and shot him once.
So he kindly turned over, advanced towards me and reducing his altitude.

The cause for the so called TK sometimes can be veryuseful; when you see an enemy chopper always shoot it once with whatever you got, who knows if it will to collide with something in the next few seconds
