Anyone find SF a lot easier?

Ive been playing for a while now and everytime I come back to SF i seem to find it so much easier maybe its because not many veterans of vanilla play? Im not a bad player and usually always come in the top 3 but in vanilla but sf I seem to dominate to me it seems easier to take people down like the guns have more hit points or something. It could also be the fact that their are hardly any vehicles on the maps well some anyway.

Just wondered what you guys thought if you feel the same?

For me, it's hit or miss. Sometimes I will just dominate in an SF server...other times, I still do good just now I'm top 5 instead of top 2. I do find gameplay in SF a lot better then vanilla...something about it.

SF is my most played "version" of bf2.

Couldn't play SF with the 1.3 patch because of the lag. Works fine now and have just started playing more often on SF. Some nights I do ok and others not so good.

yeah I also should play it alot more because the gameplay is much better maybe its because of the smaller maps.

its the no jets thing. in vanilla, there are both helis and jets that if you aren't in, you won't be dominating anything. they simply are top of the food chain.

but in sf, with no jets, only helis exist. typically heli pilots/gunners are bringing in the most points with tanks/apcs being a close second. this leaves room for more proficient ground pounders to rise up to the top more easily.

chances are you really are a good ground pounder, but all the air power in vanilla makes you think you aren't important just based off of score. as i've always maintained, never underestimate someone's teaming abilities simply because they have a low score. score does NOT define your skill.

yeah it is imo. more balanced well thought out maps coupled with the lack of point whores and baserapists makes it easier and a tad more enjoyable.

Its helps that jets aren't flying over all of the time...that really annoys me alot and takes some of the fun out of the game as the jet pilots can be real arses...

What I like it the lack armor/jets/helos. Like in warlord, each side only gets 1 tank and 1 apc...makes for some GREAT battles.

^^ also one of my favorite aspects of SF. im a groundpounder pure and simple. its nice to actually have a solid chance against the whores.

I do better on SF just because I've played them more, that and I think the smaller maps allow for more CQC ratcheting up kills a bit.

I find that in SF I have the chance to be a more well rounded player. In other words with the extra abilities of the kits like Grappling hoook, Zip Line, and Tactical weapons each kit fits a different role you can use on a team for Squad play. On Vanilla being a sniper can be a chore trying to find a good location to snipe, but on SF I zip line to less obvious places without being shot off a ladder. It's also more fun with Spec ops to be able to infultrate the bases instantly.

Plus the RPG owns.

I have found the exact opposite!!! I find that playing on SF maps has forced me to become a better play, so Vanilla BF2 seems much eaiser when I go back to play on those maps.

on Singleplayer its alot easier too compared to vBf2, i wonder why :p

I don't know about the lack of veterans though, when I play I normally see nothing but vets. I find the compettion in Sf much better than vanillia. Most people that play SF at least have an idea how to play BF. Where as, in vanilla one can find random noobs standing around the smoke-pit waiting for an arty strike or someone to go get points for them.
