I would opt for the PSU being a problem. Your PSU is 350W w/ 12V @16A, but the card needs 350W w 12V @ 18A. Do you see the issue here? The card requires more than your PSU can supply. 2A less may not seem like much, but when you add in sound card, motherboard, hard drivs, etc, having 2A less than the minimum requirement makes a difference. Just go out and get something in the 500W range with dual 12V rails rated at 20A or greater. That will set ya up well for what you have, as well as give you some extra room to grow a bit more.

BTW, add another GB of RAM. You should see some good improvements in gameplay with 2GB.

Thx guys i have turned down the settings. I have only had some problems when clicking join game,but other than that i havent had any problems during gameplay. I was able to play 2 hours straight with no problems. Also i am looking at 2 PSU:
450W

I'm going to say it's mainly psu not supplying enough power or maxing out causing the crash. You could get a new psu (500W) and if that doesn't solve your problem then you can either keep the psu or return it but using the bare minimum wattage isn't a smart idea since low power can cause parts to break.

I would clean your case, clean up your wiring to allow better flow, add another fan, upgrade your psu and see if that fixes it.

If that doesn't it may be old drivers causing the crash, regcleaner might help you with that . GL

Does a 7600GTS actually exist? i believ u have either a 7600GS or a 7600GT.
Please explain.

PS: i have a 300W PSU, and i run my settings all max, with Specs u can find in my sig.
I use about 250W

^ Thats the one i got. Its basically a 7600GT with hardware SLI disabled. It is $40 Canadian cheaper so i got it.

For my PSU would the 450W one that i posted above be good, or do i need to get the 550W one?

As said i run a heavier system than you with only 250W being used, so u also could easily cope with a GOOD, read carefully = GOOD, 300W PSU

yeh sounds good, dont buy cheap and nasty tho! and it wud never hurt to go higher! like i said. i run a 580watt. prob dont need 580watt but at least it aint struggling to give all the power my pc needs! once you have changed the PSU make sure you regularly blow all the dust and ****e that accumulates inside the case. that'll let everything breathe :)

Well, I would suggest buying a new power supply. Alot of problems can be caused by not having a good PSU. With that said I suggest buying a good PSU. I personaly have a enermax liberty 500w PSU. If you don't buy a good power supply you could wind up with alot of trouble. Such as memory errors blue screens all sorts of weird and unusual behavior. But if you buy a good brand your pretty much set for awhile so its a pretty good investment.

Ok well now i think that this is not because of my PSU. When its frozen and ive left it for a while without restating it goes to a blue screen and it say an error about nv4_display getting stuck and going into an infinite loop. Ive only gotten this message twice cuz i usually restart right away. The only thing that doesnt make since is how i can sometimes alt-F4 out of the game while its frozen.

I did a fresh re-install of the 84.21 drivers and now it seems more like PSU problems and they are even worse now. Ok, now i can play fine for 10 min then it starts to freeze for 5-10 secs and goes back to game play and then freezes again every 5 min. Also i started to get some flickering on my screen. Like a bit on the top and bottom would turn black for half a second and go back. This got really anoying and the freezing made it hard to play.

It also could actually be my windows. Im not sure if this would effect it but im having problems booting into safe mode so i used driver cleaner pro in regular XP and it showed that it deleted nv4_display.dll that was in the windows folder. I was looking later for another file in the windows floder and noticed that nv4_display is part of windows and was put on my computer before i got it. So could it be from this file getting screwed up.

UPDATE: Well, now i cant play BF2 without it freezing within the first min, then either disconnecting me from the server or going to the BSOD and showing the nv4_display error. Im pretty pissed that i re-installed.

Dont cross temperature off your list though, i have a 7800gt that did something similar at 61 degrees, added an x1 cooler and solved the problem.
