      Re: Prone Delay in 1.4???

I spent 2 years in the Marines, one of those was spent in theater. I cant for the life of me remember training or action where I could dive forward while firing my gun and get a kill with one shot.......matter of fact in many instances had I tried this move I would probably not be here typing this. So all you nobs who say "do you think in the real world soldiers dont do this?" your idiots. Maybe you should try fighting on a real battlefield before running your idiotic mouths about what real world soldiers do.

In training the only reason you would dive "forward" was for cover or to get position. If you can dive forward and roll while firing accuratly on a target in real life then Im almost positive I can find you a great spot in Afganistan to get some real kills.

Oh and yes I have a few real world kills.

OMG liek, a guy turned around a corner, and I wanted him to stand still so I could shoot him, but he dove around and stuff! I couldn't shoot him while he was moving so he owned me! This must be nerfed now! I demand that people stand still when I'm shooting at them!

        Please.

Here's a tip: Try JUMPING. When you're prone firing against a jumping target, it's high-angle and hard to aim, so then you can run right past or even OVER them, and pump them full of bullets while they're trying to figure out where the hell you went.

Maybe you should try fighting on a real battlefield before running your idiotic mouths about what real world soldiers do.
When the real world gets some defibrilators that remove .50-cal bullet wounds, real-world comparisons will have some weight.

against any high caliber weapon, no.

the people that dont want a prone delay are not saying what thier real problem is with it. thier problems are that they might possibly have to re-learn something, that dice might mess it up, and that they will have to think before doing the first movement that comes to thier mind. i am not talking about a second delay, im talking about an instant. its things like bunny hopping and dolphin diving that flatline the learning curve, and all because the animations are of a low amount of frames. the jump and prone animations travel too far, too quickly. you can say what you want, but its not a matter of adapting, its a matter of thought, or random action. what pisses me off is what a mixed messege dice gives about this game. its supposed to be a happy medium of realism and arcade, thats nice, but they end up making the skillset arcade and the weapons relativly realistic. its not like im asking for the game to be tom clansey, im just saying you shouldnt be able to get away with being a god damn looney toon.

Think before the first movement comes to mind? It's learned behavior, can be unlearned just as easily. DICE mess it up? Yeah.

My bigger concern is that in any FPS game, evasion is king, why should that change? I have no problem killing people that bounce and flop all over the place, making this whole dilemma sound like sucky players who can't compete crying for a nerf so they can spend every firefight against opponents who do nothing more elaborate than crouch. It's not even a balance issue, because anyone can do it.

In other words, the reason I'm opposed to changing it is because there is no reason to change it. It's there, it's not overwhelming, it can be responded to, its negative effects can be exploited, anyone can do it. So why change it?

I remember this same sort of crying from the old UT days when people complained about "campers." The solution was the same then: First you adapt, then you exploit their predictability and kill them.

evasion should always play a role, but evading while shooting shouldnt be as effective as just shooting, why? so people who take the time to make thier shots count the first second they see thier enemy have a decent chance over people that didnt.

theres no reason to stand or crouch, at any point in bf2, period.

my problem isnt campers, its that prone is the ultimate answer, no reason to ever crouch or stand shoot.

So then your answer is to become one of the ones who over use the exploitable accuracy that the move offers. Cant beat em join em then huh? So then I guess since the Iragi insurgents are obviously winning their fight we should just join with them then? You speak Arabic? Boy Im glad I do. Your comments are not only stupid but completely misguided. You say jump, well that doesnt work when theres 2 or more enemys doing it at once and rarely will work against a single opponent. The problem lies in the fact that no matter what you do, their very first bullet is accurate beyond all deviation. How do you over come that? You dive and fire as well, becoming the same unskilled noob as the guy your up against.

Im not calling for a nerf, I dont really give a **** since I dont put alot of value on my ability to play a game. I mention the real world only as an argumant for those who would say "Don't ya think they do it in real life?" The answer to that question is NO. The guys who would try that in real life would need more than a defib to heal their wounds.

Try not to be such a nub, your obviously one of the many who have turned this game into a who can dive faster affair instead of a relatively realistic battle game. You are one who doesnt get a kill unless you dive and can't not dive for fear that you will be mastered by a truly skilled player who doesnt need to resort to lame tactics and ***** manuevers. Now STFU and continue feeling like you have some skill since you can hit space/Z faster than the next guy.

As I said I would just rather not play if the only way to win was to jump and dive every time I have to shoot someone. So you and your super diving boyfriends can play dolphin all by yourselfs. You have taken the joy out of the game with your noobness.

Yes, there is, crouching keeps you mobile and more able to sprint if the situation goes sour (like a grenade lands at your feet), and gives you most of the benefits of going prone in terms of aim. Going prone just about doubles the amount of mouse movement needed to track a close target because of the high angle (HINT HINT). I crouch all the time.

Standing in the middle of firefights is better for clearing medic-assisted squads because all of them are on the floor and can't aim straight at people who are practically walking over them.

My answer is to do whatever gets me less dead. I didn't start doing it out of desperation, I started doing it because I realized bouncing around like an idiot made me less likely to get shot.

People do the same **** to me, I've adapted and I get them killed on a regular basis. You can do the same, as soon as you stop crying for a nerf.

So then I guess since the Iragi insurgents are obviously winning their fight we should just join with them then? You speak Arabic? Boy Im glad I do. Your comments are not only stupid but completely misguided.
If you want a stupid comment, I'd say asking me if I speak Arabic and associating me with terrorists probably tops the list. Unfortunately, I don't win until you associate me with Nazis.

You say jump, well that doesnt work when theres 2 or more enemys doing it at once and rarely will work against a single opponent.
Oh no, I'm outnumbered and not winning, NERF! Doesn't work against a single opponent? It works almost every time I try it.

The problem lies in the fact that no matter what you do, their very first bullet is accurate beyond all deviation. How do you over come that?
                    By exploiting human error.

I get kills through ambush, outsmarting, and outmaneuvering enemies. Jump-prone blows anyway, it gives your opponent a free head shot (because you're putting your ****ing head right where your chest used to be), assuming they're busy pulling the trigger instead of crying about it. Moving in a manner your opponent can't deal with is just another aspect of the game, one which will never go away, so learn to deal with it. I already have.
