I've been playing a lot of Warlord recently, nearly at my Master Gunnery promotion. The L85 = god.

edit: I think [N)@(M]Kain holds the title of "Biggest Whore of BF2". He got reset in early June for knife and pistoling, only a few points away from beating -=RD=-Volx to being the #1 for global score. Then he got a Warlord 32 man high points server and played and played and played (as INS medic of course). By the end of September, he had over 190K points.

Wow, all this talk about high ranks and points. I'm gonna start playing seriously again. I hit 20 some thousand points and just stopped playing seriously, with alot of silver badges, and most of the ribbons.

My advice: take it in stride till you're at around 40K points, then whore those last 10K. I enjoyed the game a lot more trying for my EU medal and stuff, till I got around 39,000 points (when Winter Break started for me). Now I've been medic whoring, partly cause I want lots of points and partly cause I want Expert Medic (I had 40 hours on it when I got Expert Engineer).

Believe me, just expand your BF2 horizons, play on FULLCONTACTWAR or something, for 20K points. You'll have fun learning new maps and kits, and you won't mind the long gap. I figured it really was gonna suck, and it was kinda boring. But I enjoyed playing it through. Now I'm very close to my Master Gunnery Promotion, it'll be an early XMas gift =)
