    Re: Jalalabad addicts anonymous

I just got home from Boot Camp and started playing this map. It's really fun.

It's not unfair for USMC side either. I prefer to be USMC as it is the attacking side. I'll win the round regardless of the side I'm on.

you people keep saying that USMC lose all the time on the map, which is partyl true for me. when i play USMC we almost always win. i am on the top of the score board by 10-20 points usually. i havent finished with any less than 50 points i think, and thats from joining in the middle of a round. most people who complain about IO mode have no skills or dont like playing as infantry. why do they have to complain? why cant they just ignore it and play on regular servers if they dont like IO mode? i love IO mode because the rounds end quickly, and lately i havent had much time during the day to play on a regular BF2 server. i dont have time atm to play a 30-40 minute round. most of the IO rounds i played have ended in 20-25 minutes. i tihnk i even had a few 15 minute rounds.

                Re: Jalalabad addicts anonymous

I've played a number of rounds on a 32 Player IO map of Jalalabad, and I was most impressed with the way our side (USMC) worked through things.

The breakthrough was tough, but by throwing two full squads at the Outpost and 1 full squad towards the market area, the USMC side can get through. It needs to be coordinated though, otherwise it just won't work.

Inside the city, I've found the USMC pump action shotgun to be the best weapon. I've consistently got up around the top of the ladder purely on combat points. I don't point whore much, so I find the combat element far more satisfying.

I reckon if you can cap a flag and kill a few enemies, you're going to be n times more valuable to your team than some support drone just spamming ammo bags.

Anyway, Jellybad gets my vote, I enjoy it very much, especially IO mode, perhaps if I got onto a 64 IO Jellybad map my perspective would be different...

                  The comedy here is great!
I played the JollyBob map in IO mode and the only version that seems fair is the 16 player map, with 32 players playing. Theres only 4 flags, Junkyard, market, Hotel, and Mosque. All these flags are close and its one hugh killing field. Oh, almost every round was less than 5 minutes too, very quick. . . . . . . . Red

US can win when squads are formed..
the problem is most snipers are fags, and most other players don't squad up...

always the fire fight between outpost and usmc main...
someone sneeks around and caps mosque...

                      Problems...
                      A. no one notices there is another spawn point...and keeps spawning at main or on squadleader...

                      B. you RARELY DIE becuse the f*cking medics keep reviving you...
                      C. Suicide time....

as already stated - you cant win with either army(esp USMC) unless you squad up. The points are nice, but who really cares anymore. When 2142 comes out it'll be empty

                            Re: Jalalabad addicts anonymous

My experience has been that the USMC wins 90 percent of the time when vehicles are used.

I think MEC has too many places to defend and not enough people to cover them. Usually they can hold off the initial push near the junkyard and market because a few people will spawn as engineers and block those entrances. But eventually the Marines will push through and once the junkyard or marketplace goes things can fold up quickly. If MEC loses the Mosque it really is over.

The real problem I see is with the MEC team front-loading at the first base. Well over half the team spawns there initially and a smart USMC team simply goes through the neutral flag and takes a spawn in the city. What amazes me is that even when this happens MEC players doggedly continue to spawn and contest the front base when they're losing everything behind them.

Just got 500+ points in 3-4 rounds on this map.

I still havent tried it with vehicles though.

For those to like Jalalabad but not all day on the same map, i have Road on every other map so there is something different in between. Once the server gets rolling it fills up the rest of the night so all are welcome.
