The SCAR-L?

Im coming up to my 8000 rank and i am thinking of the two new weapons im going to unlock....

Already i have the:

Medic: Tier1
Assault: Complete
Sniper: Complete
Anit Tank: Complete
Spec Ops: Tier 1
Engineer: None
Support: None

I am defo going to unlock the PKM for support but i am wondering if i should also unlock the Tier 2 Spec ops gun, the SCAR-L, so what are your thoughts about my choices and especially this gun?

You mean you never got the G36E? you really need to get the g36! The SCAR-L has a small following, but the g36e population is overwhelming.

Yea i do realise the tier 2 medic gun is good, but im not really into burst fire guns. How powerful and accurate is the G36E just a quick question?

um. while i'm sure there are other people who have accuracy down to a science, my answer is: very! Apparently the Scar is good for sniping and getting headshots, but i've heard more complaints about it. The G-36E has complaints but they're mostly like "man, you cheap g36e users, i can't stay alive!" The bursts are not spread as far as you think.

G36Es accuracy? Funking unreal, hits inside the crosshair all the time.

I haven't got the SCAR-L yet but the G36C is good enough.

You have started to change my mind, at the moment i am quite happy with the Tier 1 Spec Ops gun so there is no real need to unlock the SCAR-L. AS for the tier 1 medic weapon, i have become bored with it, so i may now consider unlocking that instead. What is the overall accuracy and power of the G36E, e.g. how many shots for head shot? good range?

Dude, get the G36e over the Scar-L. The Scar-L is decent, but it's not as great as the G36e. Also depends on what class you like to play more...

G36E is the best weapon in the game, infact it is so easy to use that you don't really need to use the ironsights nor do you ever need to use the single shot mode. Most people frown upon G36E users, but if you want to kill anything in your sight then use that. You can fire bursts very quickly and a gun with 32 damage + laser accuracy + 900RPM (fast bursts) = stupidly easy gun to use. I suggest you don't unlock it unless you have BIG problems with using the other guns (ie: You suck with other guns)

The Scar-L is good because it's like halfway between a carbine and an assault rifle. God knows why the Spec Ops get it, but it gives more power to teams like PLA and USMC. Plus more accurate than the AK-74 i think.

Yes, the only advantage the SCAR-L has is one fewer hit to kill an armored soldier. Among the carbines, only the AK-74U is less accurate. The G36c's accuracy advantage is even greater when zoomed. If the SCAR-L was the first unlock I would get it in order to get the G36 but I would never actually use it.

fixed it does 30 damage a shot so 4 shots for a kill (2 bursts) the first tier one does 34 so it takes 1 less shot to kill

the scar-l does if i remember, 28 per shot where as the g36c is 25. hope i helped at all

Being a former Medic Whore, I say go for the G36E, it will carry you in point raping up ranks till your next unlocks.

The SCAR-L is great in the hands. You need to understand your target ranges and rate of fire when using it. G36E is wicked when moving, prone, standing...it is one of the best weapons in BF2. My friends and I were talking about it and we all feel that it would be the first unlock we would have gone for had SF been out when the game was released.
