I think ships moving would totally destablize the game. It would be sweet to get some Tomahawk action going though.

they had ships in bf1942, i can't understand why they got rid of them in bf2 - it would make more sense to be able to have ships, submarines, etc. that part of the game was good fun, having to tell the pilots where you put the carrier.

i think a battleship based booster pack would be awesome. or a mod would be sweet. they would have to make a virtual impenatrable boundry so noobs wouldnt drive the ship off the map.

let the noobs take the ships out of the boundaries - they need to learn :)

honestly i don't know why this was not part of bf2 anyway since you have a couple of maps where this would be excellent - naval, land and air combat all at the same time - and then the pilots would have to find the carrier or other ships for the helos, like a cruiser or destroyer with a cobra on it would be most excellent - wake 2007 would be the ultimate or that other bf1942 map that had the two carriers, the little land in the middle - iwo jima or something like that...

maybe i am wrong but from what i understand dice sweden makes the games and then dice canada maintains them - if this is correct then why don't you sweden programmers get all over canada's *** for screwing up the game?
Because bad company is on a new, and what looks like a far supieror engine. And i'm sure they would of learned from there mistakes with bf2 not to repeat them.

Plus, Bad company is a console game, so there will be far, far less issues in the game to begin with.

Today, digital illusion's (DICE) announced a new title, Battlefield: Bad Company for Xbox360 and PlayStation 3. Battlefield: Bad Company is planned to be released during 2007 and is one of the previous announced titles that wasn't named.

Battlefield: Bad Company is an entirely new and independent game in the Battlefield-series that uses a game engine called” Frostbite”. That's DICE's entirely newley developed gaming engine. The game contains a cinematic singel-player-part loaded with adventorus feeling and dark humour as never earlier been experienced in Battlefield-series.

“in a game world that is destroyable to 90% is the possibilities infinite - the battlefield is to be changed all the time and forces the players to always to change tactic.” says man Magnus Troedsson, Senior Producer for Battlefield: Bad Company

More information about the PC- and PSP-versions will be presented at a later occasion.

apparently Bad company will be out for the PC aswell, along with the psp?

Why isn't that "kick but team" working on the patches for BF2?

Well, with the closing of DiCE CA and UK, I am not sure where the community is left. Colin, I am sure you are busy, but it would be nice to know where we stand; for those of us that may not stick with BF2142.

                                Re: Beyond 1.4

A couple of ideas I've had:

Now that good old EA has closed Dice Canada... I'm not sure anyone will see them but I hope so.

Snipers should be invisible to commanders doing overhead unzoomed satellite scans, and UAVs.

As it stands, Snipers have to suffer being knifed by noobs who were given a freebie by commanders, and artilleried because the camo skin they have is just for show; let's give it some function. Nothing is more frustrating than having a great Sniping round and suddenly being singled-out by an enemy commander. You then get artilleried when a UAV would never be able to see a fully camoed Sniper in real life.

I think that the only way a Sniper should be visible to a commander is by a fully zoomed scan and a good naked eye.

I think that this is a great idea because it would encourage more communication between Squad Leaders and Commanders if there is a Sniper terrorizing a base. The commander wouldn't be able to just tap scan and completely devalue the Sniper's main advantage in real life, that being stealth.

Allow commanders to drop APCs to their troops
I'm not 100% sure on this, but I am fairly certain that APCs can and have been airdropped in real life before. I recall one of my friends in the marine tell me about an armored vehicle that they were capable of being dropped from quite an impressive altitude. I'm fairly certain it was a type of APC but I can't recall.

Put Kit exchange stations in the Uncappables

I liked someone's previous idea of switching kits at Supply Boxes, but I also concede DICE's point that it would create too many problems of squads basing their tactics around boxes even more than they do now. Here is what I propose: In maps with uncappable bases for either side such as Dalian Plant, allow infantry men to switch their kits at a stationary location that never moves. If placed in an uncappable the station is already in a naturally defensive environment which would solve the problem of squads forming tactics around it, and as such a station is removed from the front lines it would discourage squads from hanging around it too long. It would also encourage troops to occasionally retreat to resupply which I think could make for an interesting new aspect to the game. In addition, it could give teams that have lost all of their other bases, some ability to bite back when they are being base raped.

I have some more ideas that I'd like to post later.
