I find myself doing better using the AK101 as a medic as opposed to the g3 as an assault guy. I'm not sure why this is even though assault has armor AND the g3 dishes out more damage. What is your preffered weapon for killing and why?

G3 is good, but the lack of rounds in the clip make it a pain. If I'm on mec/pla I'll favor the Medic default gun over the Assault class weapons.
But it depends on what I'm trying to do. Assaulting the TV station on Sharqi, I'll go G3. Long rang fighting, the GP-30. Just running around killing, Medic default. -

i love both those guns cept the small clip on g3 is a bit of a pain but you can learn to get used to it. i think ak101 is best all rounder, g3 best for power and m16 most accurate. i will usually use g3 for US and (usually) ak101 for MECComment

AK101 has been nerfed alot imo. I remember using it alot a while ago and being very successful with it. I just find it is very inaccurate compared to the G36E. It totally owns in extreme close combat....but anything just after short range and the accuracy is pretty poor.
If I play medic I would normally use the G36E. I quite often use the L85A1 on single shot which works really good.Comment

That is complete rubbish, the G3 is superior in the accuracy department. Personally I prefer the AK-101 although purely because it has more ammunition which comes in handy in CQC.Originally posted by Eye_of_godComment

Yes, that is true to a degree. I play the hell out of medic/G36E, so when I jump over to assult/ak101, I find that I need to tap bursts out. Normally, it hits so hard it just takes a couple taps, but you need to really focus your shots. Good thing that kit comes with a bit more armor.Originally posted by simmy.uk

G3 is better than the ak101 in the sense that it takes 1 less bullet to kill a target. This can be really good in close combat situations. G3 on single shot is also MUCH more accurate than the ak 101 on single shot.
The only area where the ak101 is better than G3 is accuracy on auto close/medium range. That kind of range where you think about changing to single shot but are not sure. G3 is terrible on auto anything more than extreme close range. Also you only get 20 rounds per clip with the G3 compared to 30 rounds per clip with the ak101.Comment

Like what I said earlier, Because the AK101 has the GP-30, it brings up the level above the G3 because of the first shot GL, followed up by the rifle cleanup.Comment

Ak101 for sure. It's simply more predictable in all situations, and offers and extra 10rds. per magazine, which means more time before you have to reload again (I don't use automatic, so 30rds can last me for a good bit).
I love the actual G3, but in game it's not well represented.
