The taunt is played automatically when you crash to the desktop or get disconnected from the server - it's EA laughing at you. Unfortunately, the code is buggy and you don't get to hear it everytime you or the server crashes.

I think its a typo. Did anyone see that video of Colin Clarke playing bf2142 infront of this small spanish audience? Cant remember where I got it, in any case he was walking around the titan and came across this enemy guy on the other side of a force field...that enemy soldier did a verbal taunt, and the crowd laughed. Theres a taunt definitly in BF 2142, but not likely in BF2. I hope I'm wrong....that taunt would be cool.

I haven't found out how to activate it yet. But, it was just added to the Common_client.zip as taunt1.ogg. There's two other taunts too.

I just listened to all three taunts. There nothing special. Actaually, they totally suck. There just 3 simple laughs.(VLC Media Player)

On a high note, I just found the music for when you get demoted. U can get demoted in BF2. I did not realize that. I wonder if thats the sound u get when u log into BF2 and EA has reset your stats.

There was a thread about this awhile back. I will try to dig it up. I forogt what the conclusion of why that sound was in the game.

ok, I personally know there are no VERBEL taunts in bf2...YET. but I did find somethings weird from some people. they are typing owned, pwned, in ORANGE !!!!! now my localization files are STILL default!!!

how are they doing it?

They are using leet hax! Or they're just editing .con files. That works too.
