Yes they are based on the same engine, no they are not the same game. Game engines get reused, licensed, whatever all the time but that doesn't make the game the same. And anyway, have you even played 2142?

I guess it'll be activated in a patch for BF2 after the release of 2142? Once BF2 veterans have logged in 2142 for the first time maybe?

YES.. since beta v1...


and i was there to laugh my *** off at the release of v2 in which stability and exploits were addressed.... and we could now only finish 1 out of 10 games without the server crashing and had 2 CTD's in the span of 5 minutes.

oh boy...yes, i'm ready for it. they've already been hard at work on breaking the crap out of it...

So yes, i have played it... and it's the same ol EA/DICE ********.
It is Special Forces v2. And heading down the same path.

It's been said before, but the new game is Battlefield 2.142 or BF2.142
It's the 1.42 hot fix for BF2 only you have to pay $50.

And then i say I'm not whining about the game. I love both games. I still play Bf2 and also play 2142. I don't have these CTD problems for some reason. I'm not whining. I'm just letting you know that WE don't want you here. We don't really care about your personal problems with EA and/or DICE.

Has anybody looked at the controls.con file? I'm at work, so I probably shouldn't, plus I don't have any experience looking in that file. maybe there's a mapping that is possible?
