trust me when I say I'm the last one to defend those imbeciles at dice and ea but, I think this patch was a huge improvement. Not because of gameplay issues resolved but just because they fixed the server crash. CTD you can rejoin, bunny hoppers you can adjust your gameplay for (personally I just shoot them with tanks :) ) but all in all, I dont think the game was In the least bit ruined by this patch, I think they actually fixed something for a change, Dont get me wrong yes, I know there is still the red tag blue tag bug theyve been promising to fix for over a year now, but I think we should just leave good enough alone right now, think about what they might screw up if they make any more patches?

Here is all Im going to say:

The latest patch (1.4) should have been the first patch BF2 recieved.

Because of the 1.30 patch and how long it took for them to fix obvious crashing issues (that should had had a 1.31 hotfix within a week), my friends, my clan and I are not going to 2142.

We are all going to Quake Wars because if EA/DICE have this kind of support for this product, how long before we have another 1.30 like-patch for 2142?

ea/dice should be emabarrased at some of th trivial things they break and then fail to repair. For example 1.3 broke the server IP listing while loading a map. Even ingame the server IP is sometimes not reported. They left it broken for 1.4. minor... yea annoying...if you send ip's to your buddies over teamspeak - you bet. but the major point of this is that it is pathetic that they break and fail to fix something that should be so easy to get right.

Teh complainers will always complain, and no matter what teh patch had I knew you pessimistic complainers would pessimistically complain. Stop being so pessimistice and stop complaining.... live with it our dont waste anybody's time whining and just go buy a game that will entertain you crash free for 20 hours before you are bored out of your mind..... EA/Dice had poor support for BF2, but teh fixed many things in 1.4. Also I have used EA/Dice products numerous times and they are great games, very low on bugs. And finally they will be extra careful with 2142 because all you whiners have made it clear that it better be very very bug free.

:P Dont take it personally but this forum has lots of whiners...

D_Lusted over the last 2.5 months Dice made it quite clear and I even remember Colin posting somewhere that the patch would be a new map, optimizations, and the gameplay tweaks would be kept to an absolute minimum. They even had 2 open betas for the patch. I guess you weren't around to notice the dozens of threads about it.

I understand your frustration to some extent, but the constant complaining should really stop. I can imagine the kind of servers you must play in that have ruined your fun. You would best be served playing a different game all together. It's clear that you will not be happy until they change the game into something completely different, which is why I say why not play something else? Im glad that the CTD is history and the patch is one of the most solid (technically) to date.

Would you be happy if they removed jumping all together? How about running too? No need for guns either right, as that is probably the cause of 99% of your deaths? The game is FINE the way it is, it looks like it has been "sorted out" for the most part. You are complaining about what players do ingame probably someone constantly owning you, try finding a solid server instead of asking for more nerfs.

First and foremost the CTD problem was the biggest concern for all Bf2 players..and yes it isnt perfect but the patch did what it could I guess..yet with how long it took between patches sure we expected more. But all in all Bf2 is still the best FPS atm, so its best to just adapt.

Oh course we are always gonna have the top complaints spam the forums over and over again. Hoppers and prone wars will reign as the supreme complaint till this game is dead...so just adapt.

And yes anti-whiners will bash away, but you have to step back and be in the posters shoes to some point. Do you think when he purchased Bf2 he
expected acts that defy physics? Im sure he looked at the box and thought "wow, a military sim type FPS..finally a game aimed at stratedgy and such" 99% of the people angry with what they have problably didnt expect every CQC encounter meaning they had to hit the dirt or hop on there belly..
So they must adapt or move on..

There are far more things screwy in infantry then people dropping to prone at every encounter and bunny hopping is really not all that affective if your enemy has even the slightest drop of skill.

If your gonna complain, at least make it a logical complaint of about something thats imbalanced..

i cant even install the patch....keeps sayin...."cant find install folder for bf2"...do u have an install folder for bf2????....most everyone i talk 2 says no....now i cant even play servers that run 1.3...including special forces and Poe2....they all ctd....so i cant play bf2 at all....u got 2 beleive i will complain...long and loud

if its that bad and people hate dice so much, why play? If the game bothers you, then why continue to torture yourself? Surely there are other games to play.

Instead of crying boycott, just do it. Actions speak far louder than words.



I have been happy with every patch that has come out. 1.4 seems to be pretty good so far. I get an occasional connection issue, but tell me what online game does not? As for the imbalances in vehicles and weapons, i just adapt and overcome, which used to be the montra of gaming. Now people just sit back complain non stop. Get out there and play to become better, stop demanding that everything is laid on a silver platter.

One last thing that bugs me about the DICE haters and complainers. Do any of you actually work for DICE or EA? Since none of you do, please stop assuming to know what DICE is gonna do or not gonna do. We all know what happens when you assume to know something.

If i had a nickel for every thread that contained statements on what EA/DICE is planning then i would be rich beyond my wildest dreams.

i cant play the game even if i want to...nothing works any more...not special forces...not Poe2....ALL servers ctd.......so i was forceably removed from the game

I installed 1.4 today. Played it for 3 hours... and found myself not enjoying it one bit. They way they've made all sorts of "delays" here and there so you can't shoot after coming up from prone... and all that BS...

It felt like I was playing GRAW. ... which is alot like playing a FPS underwater. Everything is slow and feels like "work." The most fun I've ever had playing anything to do with the BF series will always be Desert Combat.

Tomorrow, I will be un-installing BF... never to return. Quake Wars and Frontlines: Fuel of war (made by the Desert Combat crew) will blow away anything EA or DICE can possibly come up with.

Simple lack of something else to play is the only reason that I've kept playing BF2 this long. EA/DICE and all their BS. Makes me sick. Now they've completely WRECKED this game.

BF2142? Yeah right... Can't wait to watch what a joke that will be, because I sure as hell won't be playing it.
