I cant play BF2 because of this. But other games run perfectly. What can I do? Ive read all 100 ****ing pages on the Creative site and tried most if not all of the suggestions. So sad.

You know, I feel terrible now. And no one seems to care (why should you asnyways) I spent 3 months saving for this card just for this game. And it screws it up. I don tknow what to do....can someone. please ANYONE pls help me out? pls dont ignore this thread. I feel terrible for wasting so much money on it...

As you can see, we're not ignoring this thread...there just doesn't seem to be anything we can do.

I'd suggest contacting Creative Labs customer support. Seriously.

I would recommend uninstalling the X-Fi drivers and make sure you uninstall any remaining RealTek drivers/apps and then reboot into Safe Mode. Run Driver Cleaner Pro in Safe Mode and remove all traces of your X-Fi drivers and RealTek drivers. Then reboot. Then install X-Fi drivers straight from Creative's site. Then reboot.
How do I remove all traces of the xfi drivers? I only see Creative Audio and Creative Lite (or something like that) available to clean. Which one is it?

            Creative Audio

Also, try decreasing the PCI latency value of your video card (I'm guessing it's AGP) from the default 248 down to something like 64.

That will give more PCI bus to the sound card instead of having the video card hogging it all.

            Try this app:

Im using PCI-e so I think I cant use it. Its aimed for AGP users?

damn..yeah, it's for AGP and PCI motherboards only.

Anyway, if it's a hardware issue, the only way to troubleshoot it would be to try the card in another machine or change your motherboard..but that's a lot of work.

Im thinking the sound card messes up my BF2 only though. Would it be BF2 thats not compatible wit hthe card? If I buy 2142 will it give me the same trouble? Such a waste of money, so sad.

What motherboard model do you have? Are you using the lates drivers for it? And I'm assuming you are using game mode, right?

And just to let you guys know, I had no performance decrease with my X-Fi, neither did Talus, so I guess it just depends on the setup or something...

Re: Anybody else experiencing poor performance with an XFI?

                      I feel your pain man.
I have been fighting with Creative, many many posts in thier forums for so long over this issue.
                      Guess what, they don't care

I too have tried every single fix there is as well and still see a performance hit using Ultra.
Now thier latest drivers did help but the fact remains this card DOES causes a performance hit for almost 90% of users.
The worst part is they advertised a 20% INCREASE or so by using this card.
                      PLEEEAAAASSSEE! Not even close!

Don't know if you tried this but I recomend to totally uninstall/reinstall BF2 when you put this card in.
                      Good luck.

Certainly a good idea to at least delete your entire 'My Documents\Battlefield 2' subdirectory to wipe out any previous settings. If not, completely uninstall and re-install as mentioned above.

Have you also tried updating your motherboard drivers?

Run a driver cleaner in safe mode after doing the automatic uninstall.

                              Just reinstalled the sound card.
What should/shouldnt I enable in the GAME MODE console?

                              example: disable 24 bit crystalizer?

EDIT: Well after installing the latest drivers and deleting my subfolder in Bf2, my fps has dropped.

                              Done that.

EDIT: EDIT: Game plays PERFECTLY on HARDWARE and HIGH settings all the features turned off in the GAME MODE console.

Game plays perfectly also with Creative X-fi on HIGH settings BUT with CMSS-3D DISBLAED completely.

What should I enable on the GAME MODE control panel?
