Actually what got me into playing BF1942 was the era. This really got me interested in the point of time. The thing I really like about BF1942 was that it had a Single Player story mode. BF:V and BF2 dont have that, only for practice or for people that cant run online with other player.

Not a story mode but it did have a single player campaign mode.
For BF1942 you need to be updated to 1.61 then if you really want to enjoy it there's another 5 gigs of mods to download.
I think one of the reasons BF:V didn't catch on is because BF42 was still doing well, and several popular mods were still in development for it. That coupled with the fact that the engine wasn't much different led to a small amount of mods choosing to migrate. There were also a few balancing issues with the vanilla game, such as the m60.

Thats because 42 you could pick up and play and not have to have A. a big monster pc and B. not have to wait for the map to load and worry about stats. it was more acrady more to do bigger better maps and hell jsut more fun.
