Re: Do u take BF2 seriously?

I take it seriously in the way of trying to accomplish a team win, and sticking with my squad, as long as its functional. I'm qualified for quite a few awards if I ever bothered to spend a round getting the points & kills needed to complete them.

I'd rather the stats system be more of a behind the scenes thing where over time players just get unlocks and awards out of the blue as they completed certain tasks. I'd rather see people celebrating/bragging they just got their 10th Teamwork award and a special unlock.

If by seriously you mean playing to win and doing what it takes to help my team/squad then yes.

If you mean selfishly engaging in activities in order to aquire some virtual scooby snack or rank no.

I couldn't care less about my stats...even though I like to be fairly competitive when playing games I play them to have fun not get stressed out over a few points and a non-existant badge. However if it's a clan match I like to take it seriously as everyone else in my clan does. I also feel that some players look down on you if you have been playing the game for some time and don't have a lot of ribbons etc, its split the community between ranked and unranked servers and ecouraged stat padding, along with killing of any teamwork as everyone is so obsessed about those few little points on their record.

The only thing I care about on my stats are my unlocks...if i could keep them but loose my stats i wouldnt cry about it.

I take my SPM, W/L ratio, and K/D ratio seriously.

I play BF2 like I did CoD1. Lots of fun. The rankings/awards are just little mini achievements.

I rate stats much higher than I rate rank. It's easy to get a high rank but it's a different story with stats. To get a good rank, you just need to play the game loads and find something your good at or can get you alot of points. Alot of players with the really high ranks do all the dirty tricks in the book to get good points. Not necesarry stats pading, but an example is volxs prone jumping script. I mean check out his stats. He has virtually no kills with any guns...well 33k with his pkm but thats really it. The rest of his points is a combination of tank whoring, claymore and greande spamming.

The only stat I care about is assault gun stats. It's very easy to get a good kill/death via other methods, but getting a good ratio with assault gun takes skill.

Badges don't mean crap to me. I play for the enjoyment of killing as many bodies as possible and of course to have FUN!!

You probably will want to know too that you can play online against other real players.

Not anymore. I started out trying to go for badges with 5 pages of badges and requirements sitting on my desk, but I found anytime I would go for a "hard" badge my Kill to death ratio would go to crap and I would become useless for my team. So I have given up on badges. I play to win the round and be of use to my team.

Re: Do u take BF2 seriously?

I have not bothered to read all the posts, but here is my feelings:

I have a passion for this game. I loved DC, and I love BF2. 2142 and 1942, it really did do anything for me. I like the ranking system to some degree, but I love the central database of stats. It think it is an amazing to be able to watch the ebb-flow of my game. To what my KDR fall through the floor, only to take six months to rebound. Viewing my accuracy go from 17% to 27% four months.

I get a think about how my game is and not where my weaknesses are and how to become a better player for myself and the team/squad I am with.

I am happy with the ranking system, but I think it could have been done a little differently. I am happy to see the unlock system works very different in 2142. The system it has I think would have been amazing for BF2.

So yes, I do take my game seriously...it gives me something to be serious, but still playful, with day to day when I have time. It is better then gardening.

i play seriously in the sense that i want to help my team. i dont care about k:d or anything like that. i could sit in once spot the entire game just covering a street so the enemy wont flank or something like that.

I do care about getting my next unlock because those are fun, so when i kill alot of enemies i like that, but i dont relaly care about the stats.
