This is my favorite game at the moment as well.

I tried to play counter-strike again, but after a year of bf2 it just isn't the same...

try half-life2 :rock: graphics is better than bf2

Battlefield 2 is really a great game, but it does have it's (rather annoying) flaws...

It's like a juicy, shiny, red apple but with a few icky bugs in it.

Nice to see thread from the other side of the fence.

I havent really had many problems with the game...ever. 4 or 5 CTD's, 10-15 PWYC's and I been playing (although only 400hrs ranked and about the same unranked, I guess) since release.

I try every game and mod that comes out in demo form or retail (Friend at GameStop) and I gotta say BF2 and all the BF series games have more to offer the average gamer than any other game. Sure its buggy and the support is less than supportfull (Is that a word?) but at the end of the day, a better game their isnt. Even with the bunnypronenadepointwhoring :)

Only real complaint is the lack of new maps, but you can blame that on the points. So many great great maps in unranked play that would just dominate on a ranked server. Lose the ranks and points the game gets even better.

I too forget how much I like this game...

I played earlier today as sniper and got my *** handed to me...I just wans't shooting good and died quite a bit. After a few rounds of this I got really pissed and decided that my knife would be my primary weapon on a few people that were giving me a hard time....

Snuck around the hotel and into that east alley and knifed 3 of the pricks that were pissing me off....after that I had a good round and I just felt sooo much better lmao

I was thinking about this the other day. Many people (me included) have whined about the crashes, bugs and other various glitches that ruin this game. However I've come to realise that since I started playing (some 200+ hrs ago), all I think about is BF2.

All I talk about at work is BF2. I drive down the road and laugh when I see stuff that reminds me of BF2 (I swear there is this electrical box in the middle of the road that I work on, which looks EXACTLY like the supply crates :))

I go home, scoff down dinner, give the Mrs. a kiss and lock myself in the study for the next 2 hours!

I troll these forums during the day when I'm supposed to be looking at reports. I feel warm and fuzzy when a total stranger whom I've never met speaks to me through VOIP and says, "Thanks Man" when I revive them, or "Good shot dude", when I nail an APC with my rocket!

Either this game rocks, or I'm having some sort of mid life crisis

You're right, but how many times can people complain about the same thing? CTD and Server Crashes are certainly things that are quite detrimental to the game. You don't think DICE/EA know that? Now believe me I'm no DICE/EA fanboy, as I'm super pissed about the lateness of 1.4. But how many posts have to be created? How many countless CTD threads are on here?

Like I said, I used to be one of those people who would b!tch about every aspect of this game. But you gotta build a bridge and get over it. There are more important things (only just ) in life than the 2 CTD and 3 Server crashes you might get in a night.

Just my 2 cents...

well put, i too, ashamedly have similar 'emotions' with battlefield,

i must admit i have never bitched about the game or its creators, sure there are very frustrating elements within, but for me my love of the franchise, codename eagle to present - the games they have created are for me, the best there are. no other game has ever kept me engaged for this long, well, maybe except an old text adventure game called escape from witches lair......ahem.....

i hope i am not having a mid life crisis @ 28 but if i am then thats fine with me! :)

i also have depressed bouts of thinking, that relate to bf2142, i have visions of this new game, sucking all the bf2 players over to it and the infrastructure slowly but surely crumpling.......that scares me, as at the moment i have no intention of playing 2142, too much hard effort has been invested in this one, to start from scratch. i wanna get to a respectable rank and an accomplished level of expertise and gameplay, which i am well away from yet.

p.s. how sad is this, i was even looking at cherish and custom number plates the other day for my saab convi, relating to bf2, BF2 FAN - etc - lol - i aint got that much money!!!

It's somewhat laughable at how many people "hate" EA and DICE but A) Are on a BF2 forum and B) Play BF2. Why does everyone b!tch? Just play the damn game so what if it crashes, they are trying to fix it with this next patch. Why would EA want to listen to all of you if all you do is make negative remarks about their hard work? Bottom line: It's a great game, has flaws, but what doesn't? Just play it if you like it, uninstall if you don't.

BF2 must be one of the best games ever


Really good games I had played:

Call of duty 2
FEAR Combat
Half Life 2 (DM)
Counter strike:Source
America's Army
Battlefield 1942

And the ones I love the best are Battlefield 1942 + mods
and Battlefield 2 + mods

but those CtD, crashes are annoying.....
