I was thinking about this the other day. Many people (me included) have whined about the crashes, bugs and other various glitches that ruin this game. However I've come to realise that since I started playing (some 200+ hrs ago), all I think about is BF2.

All I talk about at work is BF2. I drive down the road and laugh when I see stuff that reminds me of BF2 (I swear there is this electrical box in the middle of the road that I work on, which looks EXACTLY like the supply crates :))

I go home, scoff down dinner, give the Mrs. a kiss and lock myself in the study for the next 2 hours!

I troll these forums during the day when I'm supposed to be looking at reports. I feel warm and fuzzy when a total stranger whom I've never met speaks to me through VOIP and says, "Thanks Man" when I revive them, or "Good shot dude", when I nail an APC with my rocket!

Either this game rocks, or I'm having some sort of mid life crisis

I love BF2. If Dice:

1) Eliminated the CTD problem
2) Allowed the static AA to lock on at visual range
3) Integrated SF within BF2 so you wouldn't have to reload the game
4) Removed the hotel glitch

BF2 is truely a next generation multiplayer FPS. But what I hate thinking about, is the potential EA/Dice had with this game. Sure, it has sold over 2 million copies and is critically acclaimed, but they could have gone even further. They missed the boat on a few issues that would have made BF2 even better then it is now.

But isn't that the case with many things? You watch certain movies and you think, "man that was good, but if they'd done this..." or you buy a piece of technology and think along the same lines...

That's why there's sequels and new model numbers etc. I have to agree that the current patch has made it harder to continue liking the game (7 "THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR CONNECTION" freezes in 45 mins last night ), but you still sit back after a great round and think, "WOW".

Hey Its good to hear someone isnt just whining like some brain dead monkey but actually looking past the problems and the pros of BF2 i cnat recall how many times ive had "Oh Yeah!" moments in BF2 its great:)

I never got a chance to play games like Battlefield 1942 or Vietnam, so I assume you could use all of those vehicles in the game as well.

i like bf2 too.....

the original post said about whining about bugs and crashes......but those are not whines, they are valid complaint......whines are when someone is killed by something, or a player 'tactic' defeates them and then they whine.....

everyone has the right to complain about bugs/CTD etc.......

i think BF2 right now offers the most in a game out of any other game i know of

Havn't played anything else since I was given the game in Feb

Free multiplayer of fear, availible for download at fileplanet, and thats why I play. What I also play is Halo 2, but then BF2 is always my fav. until BF2142 came out...

This is my favorite game at the moment as well.

I tried to play counter-strike again, but after a year of bf2 it just isn't the same...
