Re: Balance, whining, BF2 and POE2
I agree with this to some extent. I am a player who thoroughly enjoys investigating my stats but I don't sacrifice my desire for the team win to see my stats go up. I don't play for e-bling but I do enjoy analysing stats such as k/d ratio's, accuracies, shots fired etc... Call me an exception to the norm but that probably has something to do with being in my 30's and not a kid who is all about "me, myself and I."
As I posted on POE's site in the Suggestions Area, I would like to see the stats broken out more correctly than what is currently done within BF2. That being, don't count sniper kills while I am flying a jet as a sniper for an example. Your not a sniper, your a pilot. The stats should only accumulate towards jet stats not the kit stats. Kit stats should only accumulate when you are actually playing as your kit.
Being that BF2 lumps the kit stats with the vehicles, is the root cause and major flaw of the medals/awards and player mentality within BF2. This is the main reason I take little to no value in people obtaining gold badges and the what not.
Point collection in its current fashion drives people to teamkill for vehicles because they are working for their gold in what ever. How may players have actually 'achieved' their e-bling by being their kit? Chances are you/me got them by driving/flying some sort of vehicle. If not completely, then at least achieved some if not most of the requirements this way.
If the stats were obtained differently, it may promote more team play or at the very least, reduce the teamkilling that goes on for vehicles.
