you see the problem isnt the initial posts about when so-and-so thinks the patch will be released. The problem is the 20 or so posts from damn ignorant kids whining and b*tching on the day said patch is supposedly being released. Already the OP has lit the flames for a flurry of "WERE IS THE PATCH1!!one!1" and "DAMN THOSE LYING B*STARDS AT EA SAID THAT THE PATCH WAS BEING RELEASED TODAY" type threads that are bound to litter these boards from the 6th untill the 8th:|:

So then as a mod you have some omniprecent knowledge of who knows who and how? Please your a forum mod nothing more. Leave that arrogance crap out of it will ya. Just because you think you know everything doesnt mean you do.

What really bothers me is why you would even let this topic bother you, how much does it really effect you or the site. You guys act like these threads are interfering with something or are detrimental to your well being. Please, its a forum for a game site, not the fuc*in top secret pentagon blog. Perhaps if EA did something right for a change we wouldnt need all the threads regarding the patch. Then again they wouldnt understand that because you have to lock every thread that mentions it.

I have a friend at FilePlanet (Yes he lives 2 doors down, his family has spent most of the summer in my pool, does that qualify for actually knowing him??) He has also mentioned that FP is awaiting the patch sometime next week. Dont believe me? Dont. But don't assume that you actually have a clue who I know.

Looks like Rev hit a nerve with this guy.

There's a reason the mods lock these threads, mainly the fact that they encourage a barrage of anti EA rhetoric and end up hitting rock bottom within 2 pages.

So you have a swim buddy who works for Fileplanet. Good for you. The point is that until EA makes an announcement, everything is through the grape vine. Totalbf2 doesn’t need 80 posts regarding a tentative release date from your, or anybody’s ‘source’.

The patch will be released when EA says it's released.

Days when people 'think the patch will be out' are murder for a moderator.

It's hard on us players too.

Really, mobilizing the hard drives, scanning the skies for the patch (The official version) and monitoring the EA traffic is really takes away from playing POE.. err.. BF2. =)

There needs to be a patch 1.4 that works soon, EA is taking too long with it.

1) Your new to the forums so you have no idea how manny people post sh|t like this almost daily ... so lets say your xcused for not knowing. And then when told, you won`t just let it go ... just stop making a full out of yourself ...

2) It`s very possible the wolrd might come to an end on September 7th. I mean check all the wars around the world and Mother Nature punishing us for not taking good care of her , so who`re you not to belive that?!? :cry: Funny but sad in the meantime ....

I wonder why everyone all of a sudden seems to think they have "friends" at EA. Meeting/PM'ing someone on the forums does not automatically qualify 2 people for a meeting of coffee and pie...Here we go again

I hate to be a whiner, but it seems that 1.4b was working pretty darn well for the testers, myself included. It was better than 1.3 by leaps and bounds. Why couldn't they just have released 1.4 the way it was in the Beta, and then release this supposedly "minor fix" in a small hotfix later when they figure it out. Then we're all happy. Did EA even tell us what this "minor" problem was??? I'm tired of waiting. I hadn't played BF2 since 1.2 until the 1.4b beta patch came out, and those servers are extremely limited. I hate how they ruined such a wonderful game. :-(

I'd rather see them fix everything well and good before releasing a half-cocked patch to everyone, since 2142 will probably take precedence after 1.4.

Until EA posts it on their site it is pure speculation.
