I get the problem now and then at the moment. But it's so frustrating, the net code doesn't seem stable at all. Having to wait 400 years simply to play a quick game and then get booted back to the front end because the 'network code is corrupted' or the 'connection has been lost'... I mean, I don't know whether to laugh or cry really.

      Hmmm... I reinstalled BF2 and then re-installed 1.3

      It's working perfectly now

Got mine sorted as well, it was the Wireless Zero Configuration service that was causing it. Disabled that and all is well. I had it disabled before but somehow it was reenabled.

That fix works wonders for me, too, as a wireless user. It keeps the ping much steadier.

Having batch files to quickly start and stop the service is convenient, and I keep 'em on my desktop.

In notepad, I create "netstop.bat" and enter:
          net stop wzcsvc

And vice-versa for starting it up again when I'm done playing (if I don't restart it, my connection eventually drops)

          net start wzcsvc
