It will be better, more teamwork options. New lvls and maps. And EA will patch 2142 they are gonna stop patching BF2.

Actually, don't they stop patching a game untill an expansion comes out, or untill it is just to old that no one cares? bf2142 is just another game, differnt staff, working on differnt things.

I'm gonna get 2142, going to download off Kazaa, then go to America and steal the CEO of EA's CD key from his office. I also plan on leaving him a little "brown" present on his desk.

IMO i dont see how 2142 will make bf2 any better..mostly worse since they prob wont be making any more patches for bf2..take cs1.6 for example...no patches, fixes, or other fixes (with a few exceptions) since css came out

To the actual post: Will BF2 get better after 2142, yes, but only in the sense of maturity of the mods that exist, the recent post of Brickfield a small distant light on what's possible. But to the other major point others seem focused on in here, namely BF2 dying in the *** with 2142's arrival, think on this and chill..

Go back and read the posts before Special Forces came out, there is a fare bit of doom-n-gloom in there about its demise. Then Euro Forces - then Armoured Fury, heavens to God the sky was falling!!

And then the calm came over and look, over here in Australia at least, of the majority of server space, you might find a Special Force's (never night, how retarded are night maps..) map, the odd rotating Euroforce/Armoured Fury space for 32 players, but a whopping 90% of space is good old fashioned Vanilla BF2, Wake and Karky taking out the most of that 90%.

So, here it is, 2142 is going to be something different, DICE have said so themselves, its a futuristic FPS with a similar ranking system with at its heart is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT mode of game i.e. TITAN.

Wanna know what TITAN is kinda like with out playing it, go grab a copy of Star Wars Battlefront 2 and play a space mission. Yeah yeah, i know, you have to fly in space to get to the capital ship in Star Wars BF2, but it is like Titan mode, in that the battle shifts from outside the ship/titan to the inside.

Some points,

1.For every player suffering (and I salute the perseverance of everyone of you) at the hands of this malicious 1.3 patch, there is another who was a player who now dabbles in other things, like Battle For Middle Earth II (boofme for short) waiting for some phantom messiah patch to arrive.

When that messiah patch arrives, they, the forgotten will return. So the numbers will pick up big time again.

2. When 2142 comes out, its users will suffer at least 12 agonising months at least to play what the designers originally intended, (so there is another year in BF2 at the very least!) Also, many stretch to play BF2 now, with 2142, a lot just simply won't be able to swap over, lest they finally relegate themselves to 800x600 nastiness with low everything.

3. The listless ones with that look of boredom that i spoke of in Point 1 where once all of us before BF2. The game really was a revelation, and has some massive massive potential that has yet to come.

4. Seriously, we know the J10 thingo is a no go-er in 1.4, so many silently talk about 1.5. I think with that out of the way, and with the many many many...... many bad things 1.4 is supposed to fix, the game will be the one we all thought we where going to play when we saw those demos's all those moons ago.

SO, in short, 2142 is going to get people, a lot of people, playing, but BF2 is too big! Just think about Star Craft. The Game is sooo old, yet it is a FREAKING NATIONAL SPORT in Korea - But you know what, probably not me, i have struggled to get the meagre points i have for BF2, so why start again?

Well right now after playing my 2142 demo theres a ton of work to do before you can say 2142 is gonna be better than bf2 lol



Thing needs TONS of work, I really doubt it will be out Oct 10th

Even though I'm not a big fan of getting good stats. There are RUMORS from different forums, Planet Battlefield, this one, and others that the EA/Gamespy agreement would soon be closed. Proof is, that they are fixing it so that everyone could have all the unlocks and changing the login menu. That means all the stats will be deleted!

I mean people give way too much about their dumb pixels that are called 'rank & stats' I don't see any "Goal" in those stats. In games my goal is to have fun not to achieve a medal 50000 other peopl already have.. That's why I mostly stopped playing 'ranked' besides on the unranked servers I play on people are way better as them pubbers..

That's fun in my opinion taking down enemy's who are really good and don't teamkill for vehicles. When I want to chopper I go to the Battlefield.no Chopper Mayhem server.. Unranked Server-Side modded server really cool

I don't go for stats anymore why should I? What if I'm a Major or something it won't make me feel special?

lol, I wish they do do that, most of the stathungry people will move on to the next big stat heavy game, leaving the rest of the community to finally be able to play the game like it was meant to be played, and dont forget all the mods are starting to be released, that will breath even more fire under BF2!
