Just wondering how many of you think BF2 will have a more mature group and style of players when 2142 launches ?

You know that's a good point. I wouldn't be surprised if playing BF2 is a lot more fun after 2142 comes out as all the 'kids' will jump to the new version. I think Ill still play BF2 at times but depends how addicted I get to the new version.

BF1942 got worse after BFV and DC. I've not gone back and played BFV/DC since BF2 came out but I assume a similar effect.

I reckon 2142 is going to be the same, great fun except for a handful of major f ups, we will spend the same time online in forums making very similar points about similar things. EA can't get BF2 right after god knows how many patches what on earth makes anyone think they are going to release a bug free gem of a game, I think no way, and will not be buying it until at least 4 weeks after release.

Well right now after playing my 2142 demo theres a ton of work to do before you can say 2142 is gonna be better than bf2 lol

nowadays BF42 has a close community who all play for the same goals, and its extremely fun to play with everyone. So no I dont think BF42 got worse after BFV(ok maybe in its initial stages, but after the hype died down alot of people returned to BF42) Same thing I think will happen to BF2, people will be attracted to the bright and shiny new game, than once the hype dies down, and more mods get released for BF2, people will play more.

All these posts about 2142 being the death of BF2 are just laughable, I mean come one, there two TOTALLY different games. Plus just because you install BF2142, doesnt mean you have to throw out your copy of BF2, I still have BF42, BFV, and BF2 installed on my computer, and I still play them alot. I plan to add 2142 to the arsenal aswell, but that doesnt mean that I will spit on my copy of BF2 and throw it out the window

I thought I've read that DICE was trying to make 2142 more teamwork oriented. If they can somehow force the need for more teamwork then that would help make it stronger. Then all the idiots would stay back on BF2, and us teamwork folks could enjoy a much better gamein 2142. That's my hope.

I think it wont change, 2142 is futuristic, quite frankly, I am not sci-fi fan but I will get it as soon as its out but I also will always go back and play strike at karkland

I will not buy nor play 2142 it's a crap game imo. Those Dice guys are in the wrong place with their heads. BF2 needs to be fixed first before they release that game. I won't say it sucks well ok I do it sucks but I really don't like the Sci-Fi feel of the game but luckily for everyone and for dice It's just me.. Or not..

How does it comes I often see people who are happy they kill captains, majors, generals and other high-rankers.. Rank means nothing not for me I start a lot of new accounts I mostly am private who cares. I have a Sergeant Major account but that one is just for unlocks..

Play the game for fun not for points.. lots of people forget that.

Smaller first, better second. You'll probably see vanilla servers degrade to the level 1942 normal servers are at now. Mod servers will continue to clip along with their dedicated following, while the majority move on to 2142.

i think that it will be worse becuase people will still play it but there is no doubt that it will be a much smaller player base. And besides the support Ea gives will be cut tremendusly
