BF1942 was the purest of gameplay thus far in the BF epidemic. The planes were fielded en-masse, the tanks as well, the AA was player-driven (no locking missles, no countermeasures... if the guy in the AA gun could aim and lead properly he generally won the encounter. The dogfights were REAL dogfights and most of the planes were comparable... guns only, no silly missles.
I take back what I said before, I wish BF3 was another WW2 game. Slow evenly matched planes, AA that worked reliably... medics could heal but not magically revive...
