POE 2 review

Been playing BF2 from the very beginning. Stopped after playing for more than 100 hours. Played again. And now POE 2 arrives. It is a great effort, but the weapons are clearly developed by individuals (some shine, some don't) and just don´t feel authentic. It is hard to say, especially as so many people have worked on this mod. But for me it is a letdown. Maybe my expectations were too high. A B+ at best, but feels more like a C- to me. I actually like Vanilla more.

only mod ive liked so far is prmm because it actually changes gameplay beyond added content. im downloading poe right now.

Really good mod. Right now is the best mod for bf2.Image quality and gameplay. Armor needs teamwork to work. This is how bf2 should be. More simulator than arcade. The maps are great, really good looking.

It feels even more arcade, you run faster than Carl Lewis in this mod and for a long timespan. Main complaint is that it does not feel as one piece, more like shattered, taste is for everyone different, I guess. It is just me disappointed. My expectations for this mod were probably too high.

Not my cup of tea, even more arcadish than BF2. The jeeps look one dimensional, like those cardboard cutouts you make and run along with...

Unloaded full clips into guys from close range (saw the blood splat) and they lived to kill me while I reloaded. Nailed a jeep with a tank round, he sped off just like BF2. Hit a tank with 3 tank rounds, and he proceeded to one shot me. I just don't get it. I'll probably stick to PRMM, because as somebody said, it actually changes the gameplay. This mod is just different weapons, same arcade gameplay. Playing AT feels like BF1942, fire the rocket and watch it drop like a rock, take a tank round to the forehead.

Definitely try it yourself and make your own judgement call, but if you're expecting something drastically different than BF2, don't hold your breath.

thats a good thing.

it feels like DC/BfV, which is really a good thing..

Some good large scale armour battles like in DC/42

Its what Bf2 should have been in the 1st place

the choppers are damn good only the hind is hard 2 control but those gunpods are realy cool i love it:)

I think it's awesome! :)
It's like a new game to me. Different weapons, all new maps (some resembles AF surroundings).
I have to learn how to play again.
Some maps are IO heaven, others are full of vehicles. I guarantee you, nobody could get bored!
The more I play, the more I love it.
It's hard and you'll get killed a lot at first, but it's so fun to play. Weapons seam more accurate and this means you'll not live much if you don't think your way in combat.
Unfortunately, there are some inherent bad things. Some (if not all) BF2 bugs are present. I had the zoom bug, with the weapon getting in and out of zoom. Just once, but enough to know the bug is still here. Until the patch is out, we'll have to live with it, just like we do in vanilla.
In the end I recommend this mod to everyone.

It's definitely more stragety based then bf2...you have to have a squad that knows wtf they're doing. Accuracy and deviation are on point when prone and zoomed in with the iron sights, just like it should be. Helo's are great, although people hog them but what else is new. The arty is still confusing me.... :hmm: .

Are you sure you were using the correct rounds? SABOT for armor, HEAP for soft skin vehicles and infantry.

Its a good mod and i do like it myself in some respects but i realy dont think they should of added weapons that only have 20 rounds. BF2 has poor hit detection and thats a know fact so your not even going to get the full 20 rounds half the time and everytime you kill someone your going to have to reload its very hard on the ammo.

p.s. sf class & antitank class on ukranian side i've not played the germans yet.

It has two more game modes , frontier and nuke mode. If you are Germany you have to c4 the nuke,at the end if Ukraine wins the nuke is launched LOL

I like the mod realy much, choppers=total ownage. The new aircrafts are also very nice. The envirament is awsame, I always wanted a richer flora :) The new gun models are also made in good quality. Lots of new maps and vehicles. I dont think I will play much vanilla after that :)
