You can't have a ship battle if the other team has no carrier...

I liked 1942's ability to move ships because naval bombardment was actually possible. Get the carrier near the shore and commence fire. You could also get with a scout/sniper and have them spot your cannon fire as if they were artillery.

I think it would have been cool tho, to allow commanders to select certain positions (or waypoints) that the ship can move to, but keep it restricted to maybe 4-5 set points on the map to limit any exploit potentials that might come from unrestricted ship movement.. that way enemy bombers wouldn't always automatically know where the ship is in order to line up repeat bombing runs.
it would be better if you had a sopecific area, everyone would know where the points are but if u were allowed to meve the ship anywhere in the ocean(not too close to the coast or the edge of the map) it would be alot better and also if the commander wasnt able to spot the carrier while its moving

The good thing is, all Battleships have been decommissioned from the U.S. Navy. And only the british, russians, french and the U.S. have naval carriers.

Yeah, the battleship in 1942 was nice. The Midway ship battles were a lot of fun, IMO.

And I REALLY loved the AA guns on the Battleship. You could actually shoot down a plane, LOL...................... There's not a bit of effective AA in BF2 (exception is the Essex gun), I just don't friggin' understand the problem with putting real AA guns on vehicles and all over the maps, then having jets in the maps would be fine.
