They haven't changed much I don't think, they like to get as much life out of them as they can too.

omg! go to http://www.navy.mil/navydata/fact_di...0&tid=400&ct=4 There were several ships named as USS Essex! Right now what we are talking about is an old WWII Carrier. In BF2, its a Amphitious Assault Ship that is like a carrier

P.S. heres the list of all naval aircraft carriers since 1900s http://www.navy.mil/navydata/ships/carriers/cv-list.asp
You could see that one you guys mentioned is already decommisioned

If you could also noticed in your video blueprint, they dont have a boat deck, Amphitious Assault Carriers i mentioned does. These Assault carriers carry Marines for a beach assault.

These links are all from the official U.S. Navy website

Many carriers and warships today use the name from previous ships. USS Enterprise and Hornet for example.

There is no U.S.S. Hornet today, the U.S.S. Enterprise is only named once for an aircraft carrier!

P.S. There is no U.S. Navy battleships today!...only in museums...:[

              Confused Hornet to Boxer >_<

As for USS Enterprise, there were several USS that held that name, notably a WWII carrier and now the modern supercarrier.

sad that Battlefield 2 didnt put anymore new assault ships into the game, like an assault ship only with helipads. With boats on the side of the ship

                      It's still a battleship, it's a ship that does battle. :P

Sadlt Britain doesn't have any aircraft carriers, we have three Through Deck Cruisers designed for VTOL aircraft. However these are being replaced with two modern aircraft carriers in 2012.

Yeah...no country is as rich as the U.S.

But then, the Russians have carriers, the French has one too!

But we are talking about assault carriers once again...so off topic
