your title is misleading you state 1.4 will be the last update like it is a fact you shuld of wrote will 1.4 be the last patch? it might be the last patch even if 2142 does ok most of the good bf2 community will not get it. bf2142 is more for younger kids 8-14.

and alot of people are sick of DICES handling of games. I think The bfseries is about to die the mods may keep alive for a few months. PoE2 may outdo 2142.

Dice screwed up on bf2 so they are jsut trying to move on to 2142 which will not be anybetter.

So ... smarta$$ ... how do you know that 2142 was created for kids between 8-14!? Just because you don`t like it doesn`t mean NOONE else shouldn`t like/take it. Not a really big fan of futuristic games , but I WILL get it, ( See explanation at the end of my post ) and I`m 25.

YES , some bugs here and there, some CTD`s. Does it really worth it?!? HELL YES!! 100 $ I payed or maybe a bit more on the game so far ( vanilla, SF, EF, AF) and I still think it was worth it. PLS TELL ME 1 ( ONE ) THING THAT COSTED 100 OR SO AND YOU STILL PLAY/ENJOY AFTER 1 YEAR !!! If you don`t play it anymore , PLS stop whinning ...

And another thing, if I give you a task, you do it but it has some problems, would that mean I SHOULD NEVER EVER GIVE YOU A TASK AGAIN!?!? How do you know how many bugs will 2142 have?! I don`t know, it`s not out yet. Yes this one had some, but that doesn`t mean that 2142 will be the same ( bugs considered ). Trust and confidence in EA!?! Not quite ( I`m not an EA FAN neither ) but they did created ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER PLAYED SO FAR ( bugs or no bugs ).

We still play this game, even with CTD and so many crashes, we are still here on forums, debating about how to make it better and more fun.
We don't know if 1.4 is the last one, I hope it's not.
But perhaps we should look ahead at other, potentially better games. Could be 2142, or QW, or other. It doesn't matter.
BF2 has raised the standard for this kind of games, we should expect a lot more eye candy and better physiques from the future generation games.

We still play this game, even with CTD and so many crashes, we are still here on forums, debating about how to make it better and more fun.
We don't know if 1.4 is the last one, I hope it's not.
But perhaps we should look ahead at other, potentially better games. Could be 2142, or QW, or other. It doesn't matter.

PoE2 will outlast the whole BF2 and BF2142 combined so who cares what they do after 1.4. As long as PoE2 gets released we have something that actually works.

For me it also doesn't matter, because if the 1.4 patch doesn't fix the server crashes and 'back to desktop' crashes BF2 is still plagued with, then I will probably never play this game again.. And DICE/EA can in that case also forget about me buying any BF game (or any EA game for that matter, since BF1942 and BF2 were the only EA games I bought this century) ever again..

There's enough other simular good games outthere (or are coming out soon) that don't have these issues.. It's really a shame a fun game like BF2 is screwed up so bad by all this BS.. The gameplay is very good (and that's the only reason why the game is still as popular as it is), but everything else arround it is just plain sh!te (the loadtimes, the serverbrowser, the controlmenus, and last but not least all the showstopping bugs)..

So my final hope is on this 1.4 patch.. If it fails, it's gameover!

I do think that if the patch isnt what has been promised, they realise they will lose any remaining respect they may have, not to mention huge numbers of players who will, i believe, just throw in the towel.

Hence theyre testing it thoroughly to make sure it all works properly! And yet you all whinge at the length of time its taking..
