You answered the question yourself.

I believe that when you enter your BF2 details it's just to check that you do in fact have a valid BF2 account and are therefore a 'vet'.

Then you enter your desired BF2142 nick that you want to reserve but you can't, because this name already exists! You created it for the beta testing!

Try deleting your beta login and then registering your nick maybe?

it is only illegal if you are the seller the cossumer/buyer can do what ever he chooses to do with the tags ... lol

Is it just me or does the veteran program not work right now, i keep getting a blank white page with this text "E 999 $ 4 $" in the top right corner after trying to reserve a name.

Anybody else getting this?

I got my name taken again... It seems someone else called themselves BigPoo in BF2, which forced me to use a variant. I guess the same guy got in on BF2142 before me too. Really grinds my gears though, he hasnt even bothered to gain over 100 points in a year of BF2! And he gets the name again?! Bah!

you get people into a game where they can create name A.
using certain charaters and a certain length is allowed.


then at the release of game B you change the allowable character type/size.

WTF is wrong with this picture? am i the only one that noticed that hey.. we created an account... and now we have to go under a completely different assumed identity. FABULOUS!!!!

way to boff an easy project. couldn't just make an option to import your account from bf2 huh? and now with the limitations on characters how many people will be forced to use a name they don't even WANT to use?

At least they gave you a chance to save your name. This way you are sure of the name you will have and there won't be a mad scramble at the beginning. They didn't have to do it for you and you didn't have to participate in it.

All in all we all get the short-end of the stick sometimes. My name was taken and the name I really wanted so now I'm "de Lusion". Without quotations of course and at least this way I found out you can have spaces in your name.
