What do people want from their Commander?

When i go Commander i spot troops/Tanks/APC's/Heli's
If a flag near me is getting taken and i get the chance to take it back i do, if another player from my team runs in i run away so i cant see the flag status sign under my mini map and then run back in so they get the cap.
I drop supply crates for tanks and APC's
Watch where enemy troops are headed and drop artillery before the flag goes neutral
I give orders but not overly as it can get annoying a commander constantly telling you what to do and also teamspeak and type if no team speak available
i also ASK people to squad up.
Ok...im not trying to blow my own trumpet im just saying what i feel a commander should do. Wer've all had it where you get a kick vote and sometimes i wonder why. Has anyone got any other things or tips they want to add for being commander?

I'm usually a squad leader, so I like support in the form of a vehicle drop after a flag is taken (or to avoid a long journey on foot), artillery to clear dangerous areas to avoid needless brawls and supply drops in fire fights.

Orders for specific squads can also be nice.

What I want from my commander is for him to STOP SPOTTING 10 INFANTRY SOLDIERS AT A TIME. Save it for vehicles and lone wolves capping flags from behind. When you see all 4 lines of chat occupied by commander spotting that's a sign that you're ****ing spamming and pissing people off.

Aside from that if I get my vehicle when I ask for it I'm happy with whatever the commander does.

Totally with you on that one mate........apart from when i see my team going for a flag and the UAV is on another site and i dont want them to get killed i spot like a Mo'Fo to let them know where the enemy are.

But i agree it gets annoying.

From a commander point of view it get annoying when people are sitting near a flag but wont take it, i've put UAV, dropped supplies but they sit out of range of the flag??? Basically players that dont use the mini-map are annoying! You can tell the ones, they normally have a kill 3 and death 24 ratio:)

For me, as long as I get a response on requests for vehicles and supplies right away and not a 20 second delay because he is off running around somewhere and the uav is constantly up every time it finishes recharging. Then I am happy.

I can't stand requesting a vehicle, sitting there, no response, then I start to go on foot, get a good distance away then the commander realizes what is going on and a vehicle is coming down in an area where no one is anymore.

I just try to let the commander do his job. He can see the whole battlefield, and there might be somewhere that needs arty more that my spot, or somebody that needs a vehicle more than me.

I want a commander that makes me feel alright..
That can protect me and keeping me in his arms ..

I want a commander that when I ask .. "Requesting supply drops" he drops me a bedcover .. a smooth bedcover..

I want a commander that don't drop a car in an hole burning me in the hell's flames ..

I want a commander that repairs the artillery with drops and don't spam repair here else I'll put my wrench in ..

commanding is simple, the very first thing to know about commanding is to find a safe place and hide. unless your main base is capturable or the enemy is destroying your assets, you shouldnt try to fight.

dont try to give orders via the gui, nobody follows them, instead use voip to explain to your squad leaders why you want them doing a certain thing.

when the enemy breaks through your lines and are at or are going to a flag, and yiu need the uav elsewhere, thats when you spot, otherwise, the team doesnt wanna hear it.

use your commander assets as soon as they are done in a manner you would think best suits the situation. the commander should always be engi so he can repair his own assets if need be. only sit on armor if no one else will take it, and if someone else comes, give it to them.

supply drop near defending armor, or ahead of where assaulting armor is. if there is no armor, and your assets need repair, and nobody can get to them, then use it for that, otherwise just repair it yourself.

for vehicle drops, basically drop um where onfoot people are or where alot of people are or will be, so they all have a car if they need.

for arty, basically never waist time with it, always be ready to fire off another one. basically use it on static people and most importantly in a broken arrow situation or when the enemy is grouping at a flag.

I want you to support Spec Ops when they're in the enemy base.

I want you to give a vehicle drop to a stranded person.

I want you to give squad leaders orders.

I want you to artillery where it counts for a tactical advantage and not for just your kills.

I want you to use your UAV intelligently.

I want you to use "spotted" wisely. I'm sick of your loud voice telling me about some lone Enginner halfway across the map that doesn't matter to anything.

I want you to prone in our base and command!

Basically everything rodger said but one more thing when sending a UAV do send it to the best place but if you can try and get it to cover as much as possible i.e. 1 UAV in the right place on kakrand can cover 3 flags at once (MEC back island the 3 flags near the water).
