Blackhawks and Carriers

i have 2 questions,

the first one is, on the back of the bf2 box there is a blackhawk flying wit rocket pods on wings at matushur city but when there there is only regular trans helos??

second how come the carriers dont have catapults and the second runway that runs off the side?? it looks more like WWII carriers than modern carriers

thats because they arent full size aircraft carriers > they are amphibous assault ships if i recall http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Essex_%28LHD-2%29

and the blackhawk with rocket pods never made it into the full game - though i think it is in some mods

Yes, they are amphibious assault ships, that's why they don't have F-18s on board. It would be nice if the ships came with an amphibious LAV in the lower bay...

In Special Forces, there is a full sized Carrier, if I'm not mistaken, on one map.

It has already been indirectly answered, but there is no need for a catapult equipped carrier when you have airplanes with VTOL/STOL abilities (F-35B)

The F35(B) in-game is the marine variant, with STOVL (Short Take Off - Vertical Landing) abilities. For some reason, they didn't put the Navy version (C) (which has larger wings, heaftier landing gear, and no STOVL capability among other things) in the game. There's an air force (A) version as well.

So yeah, you're right lol :P

It's not true vtol since it cannot transition from hover to flight. it can hover up and then down - but not up and away. As sunscreen said, it is technically STOVL
