Sony Vegas

Can someone explain to me how you slice your footage in Vegas please.
I know one way of doing it but it seems a lot more technical and takes a lot longer then how you do it in Premiere. I really want to use Vegas to make my movie but it seems a lot harder to use then Premier but then Premiere is harder to use in other places.

So I will stop dribbling and ask "How do I slice my footage in Vegas the quickest and easiest way possible"

Any sites with Tuts or imfo would be also appreciated.

What should split?
Do I do this in the Trimmer or highlight what I want in the track and then press S?

Well, I just drag it up into the timeline, select where I want to cut the clip and both the audio and video slpit.

sony vegas of course is better thn windows movie maker but looks too complicated do ya think i should get it???

I think you should if you want to edit video.

You can't split in the trimmer. If you could it would be pointless. Wherever you place your marker in the timeline it will split all events on all tracks if no events are selected. If you have any events selected, only those events will be split, leaving the others untouched.

You can move your cursor to the part that you want to cut, select it and hit S, if you dont select it, you will split the audio too if you have it

Thanks guys, that makes it a lot easier for me, the trimmer was very annoying and putting me off Vegas because it seemed so much easier in Premiere but now that I know how to do it the easy way I will give Vegas another go.
