Other Sources for 1.4 Patch?

Well, every time a patch is released, EA's FTP get a ton of request so the dlads are preaty much SLOW... Do you guys know another source, an official one, for the release of the patch to get the server files and the patch at the release time?

I have to provide hosting for those files on my community and on 1.3 I was waiting almost 4 hours to get the files into my ftp.

I allways use EA downloader or GSA (gamespyarcade). Shouldnt be long till it's out now anyway m8. There will be a post here when it comes out so just keep ya eyes open !

Typically EA downloader works but typically I get it straight from ea's main site.

i dont trust the ea downloaders speed sometimes, i prefer to get my patchs off Gamershell atleast their are alternate servers to pick from and i get max speed

I cant run EA Downloader on a linux machine (my particular case) Normally, I start dloading the patches from EA's ftp and.. like 5 hours later, I start downloading the same files over filefront and.. guess.. I finish those first while EA's FTP is still on half of the dload.

you should ask some 1 on GSA for the fastest link, it only takes like 7mins to download lol

I am my own GSA :P I run some ABR ranked servers (not EA-Gamespy stats system)...

You will have the files soon enough. You aren't the only one that has to patch a Linux server. You've waited 2 months, what is another couple hours?

But, you guys who live on the US or Europe have several local mirrors.. I'm the only local mirror on my country (Chile), so you may understand why is this so 'important' for us.

I know. But there really is nothing you can do for atleast a few more hours. I am sure that most providers are loading the FTP servers as I type this. There should be plenty of mirrors soon.

I know you want an official source but i nearly always get the latest patch on patch day of bittorrent. We might have alot of mirrors in europe but there always hammered on patch day and the speeds slow even on sites people have just mentioned (gamershell). If holywood can embrace bittorrent as a distribution source for its media i dont understand why EA just dosnt doit that way. I always get the patch of there garanteed faster than of EA (EA speed = 50 or 60 k/Bs max bittorrent speed = 800k/Bs max for me anyway).

You are lucky btw... I only get 4-5 k/bs from here on Ea's

Filefront is a great one usually get 300-400 KBS and Fileplanet if you wait the line you get about 500 kbs
