Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Players know the best places to park armour inorder to get the maximum amount of kills without breaking the rules. There is also a hell of alot of nading and claymore spamming in those servers. It's all about points and no lone cares if they win or lose.
32 player karkand I can just about tolerate if I want some teamwork action. I go to a 64 rarely but not often. Alot of hackers play 64 karkand.
Yeah I agree. 32 players is probably the way to go for Karkand. 16 player size/setup isn't bad. But again with the servers and people that run/play it. Most of them are stat padding knife/pistol or infantry only servers.
This game is about what you want it to be about. I love how people throw out their opinions as if it's a law of nature. You paid $50 for this game like everyone else, do whatever makes you happy, just don't expect everyone else to reciprocate.
This is also true. You pay 50bucks for game that requires 1gb of patches to work so you should do whatever you want.
But the map briefing states that the objective of the game is to cause the opponents tickets to reach zero. This is done by holding all of the control points or the majority. It seems that people are ignorant to this or are just neglecting that.
I give up on flags because its the same gameplay in the Battlefield series for over 4 years. Give us another form of objective other than damn flags, FFS!
Or you could not buy a game that clearly states the "objective" is to do just that as it relates to flags. It's not like a revelation or anything, the game has been about flags since the beginning. Find a FPS like quake if your objective is just to kill other players.
BF2 teamwork has always been a hit and miss affair. All you can do is keep looking for servers, look out for the regulars who like squad play and communicate well. Hook up with them and your gaming experience will improve, plus you'll probably score well and win maps more often. I had fun today with some regulars I've hooked up with who all use VOIP, winning Wake 64 (amongst others) as USMC was definitely a pleasure. :)

I think you may have got me wrong. I am not wanting a Quake like experience (I detest deathmatches), I'm actually wanting even more depth and teamwork than just flag capping. There was actually another game-mode advertised for BF2 that they didnt implement, and previous Battlefield titles have had more than one mode, be it capture the flag, or the objective mode released later on in BF42's life. So while I realise that flags are what BF2 essentially is about, I'm tired of it, been playing this series since the day BF42 came out, so I'll play it however the hell I want, thanks very much.
ALSO, this games not just about capping flags, its actually about winning maps, and that includes defending and teamwork. So while I see you have a lot of caps, you only have 1/10 the amount of defends and 1/3 the amount of assists, which leads me to believe your flag capping consists of hopping in a buggy and driving quickly from one unattended flag to the other to pad some stats instead of actually working with other players towards the same goal.

Nice work, you get 44 flag points per hour. I only get 20 and that is the best out of all 4 of my accounts.
Exactly, he focuses on flag capping over anything else, and flag capping is not necessarily teamwork.

Let's note your numbers shall we? 123 hours in-game and a GS of 11k? Maybe you need to rethink your strategy. Let's go ahead and show everyone your vast experience at playing the game as you judge me and maybe next time you won't be so quick to poke at someone else numbers lest your own be shown.

You're killing me dude. You're calling me a padder for taking flags, that hilarious. I don't have many assists because I TAKE the flags, I don't assist others, they assist me and thank you pointing that out. You mention winning maps, but you obviously don't get that having all the flags wins the map right? Flags = Wins genius. GO ahead and note my WL ratio for effect. The more flags your team has, the more tickets that go bye bye on the other team. Pretty simple really.
If you really think the game is about defending and teamwork, what are you defending? Oh yeah, FLAGS that were taken by someone on your TEAM. TEAM players that take flags allow for more spawn points for the rest of the team; they allow for tickets to bleed from the other team as your team has more flags; they allow others to spawn on them as a member of the squad they are in while taking all the flags... should I go on? How does running around on foot at one flag possibly accomplish the same thing?
I apologize if I was harsh on you in the last response, but think through what you'rer saying before you post. Your response helped make my point and I thank you for that.

Unlike you, my playing isnt all about stats. I also dont waste my life away playing this game, I have a life outside my parents basement, thanks very much. I'm also not the one starting a thread about how im the uber-legend flag capper and ultimate team player.

I wouldnt say your necessarily a padder in the purest sense, but it does seem like you spend a lot of your time driving around doing your own thing. Your moan is partly about teamwork, and I dont see you as overly a team player. If I wanted to, I could spend whole maps driving around on my own taking flags, but if you dont hold them, whats the point?

Exactly, its all about YOU. Not "my squad and I".

Jeez, thanks for pointing that out, I'd never gathered that from playing the game for over 4 years.

Not on maps where one side has a non-cappable flag, then defense is critical. For instance, when Karkand starts and you are MEC, what do you do? Drive around in circles waiting for a flag to be taken so you can re-take it?
Let me tell you how I play this game. If my friends are online, we play as a cohesive squad, taking flags, or defending them on maps where defense is needed. If theyre not, I still play as a squad if there are good squads to join on the server. If there aren't any, I generally have fun doing stuff other than just flag capping. You know, for fun.

A few comments and I will be done with wasting my time on replying to your posts.
I stated very clearly in my OP and I quote myself on this "I am not the greatest player by any means." I am pretty sure that does not mean uber-legend in any language, but good try at an insult there bud.
Between being a devoted father of two, a husband and a police officer in my professional life, I am a pretty busy guy which is why I don't play BF2 that much. Although I appreciate your zeal in using the age old attempt to make me seem like some pre-pubescent juvenile who lives in my parents’ basement, you wasted your breath. You might want to change up your repertoire next time and try an original insult that is not older than you are.
I am also a member of a 47 member clan that does a fantastic job of playing as a team. Each member has a job and guess what mine is? Map control. Get the flags. We have members that hang back and defend, attack commander assets and do a multitude of other things; the whole team thing in the purest form, doing different jobs to achieve a common goal.
I wish you luck and good fortune in the future, but take the time to research a subject before professing yourself to be an expert at anything and negatively commenting on someone else without cause or provocation. You might find you have bit off more than you can chew like you did tonight.
You're taking the game too seriously. If you're talking Karkand here, I must admit its a total blast fighting over that 1st flag. If your playing support or a medic its too hard to resist the temptation to let all hell break loose and just have a blast :p

it doesnt matter how much the game is geared toward teamwork, the real factor that determines the amount of teamwork going on is the people playing the game.
i hate it when people flame the game because they had a bad day dealing with players on a server who arnt working as a team.it is the people that determine the amout of teamwork, not the design of the game. some people who play bf2 dont like working as a team. some do. just try to find the people who do, and stick with them.
