Same schitt happens to me too from times to times, i just learned not to ALT-TAB once you click BF2 icon or Qtracker or whatever. Other than that, and some random CTD's, server crashes & disconnects, minor/major bugs [depends which one you're thinking of] it runs like a charm

Its just one of those bugs 111

I sincerely doubt this is a hardware issue.

              "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +playerName MyPlAyErNaMe +playerPassword this_is_my_pw

              password is case sensitive..

i put that into my shortcut and the black screen delay went away and it only takes 5 seconds plus it logs you in right away.

                Re: god i love bf2

I use Qtracker and hadn't clicked on Bf2 icon in ages, in fact dont even have it on my desktop

That fuzzy screen occurs when i alt-tab too much while running game and switching back to desktop. Especially if I try that during map loading time, that happens almost every time. No reinstallation (game nor win) helped so i still stick to my story ^^ up above. Can't fix em all and thats a fact and BF2142 will be no better in terms of stability and performance.

looks like bad video ram to me... same thing happened to me when the RAM on an old video card crapped out on me.

i think if it was bad video ram i wouldnt be able to loop deep freeze in 3dmark06 at all , which i am able to do with no crashing/artifacting.
