To those of you who've run BF2 with 1GB of RAM, then upgraded to 2GB: How much of a difference did you really see in-game after the change?
My unit's specs are AMD Athlon 3200+ Clawhammer @ 2Ghz, 1GB of Kingston ValueRAM, 250GB IDE HDD, OCZ Modstream 520W PSU, and an ATi X800XL All-In-Wonder AGP overclocked to 466 core/565 mem. I usually run BF2 at 1024x768 (any higher res and it hurts my eyes), with all settings on high or medium, with 4x AA, and so far the game looks and runs GREAT. There's no lagging, no stuttering, and no freezing. Everything's smooth with FPS usually in the 50s and higher.
So, what exactly would adding another 1GB of RAM do? Would it mean faster load times, both of the game and of its maps? Would I be able to increase some of my medium settings to high, or are they all GPU-dependent?
Any help is appreciated! I'm just wondering if I should go out and drop 250$ on 2 sticks of 1GB, or just be happy with what I have.
