    Veterans Program?

I never got an email, but I heard there was some sort of bf2 veterans program in the works that ties in with bf2142. Is there more than the announcement, or was it just an announcement that the program will come "eventually"?

Basically the information we know so far is, you will be able to reserve your ingame name for 2142, you will get an instant promotion the 1st time you play, and you will get a special "war dance" to taunt your enemies. It sounds like an awesome game, can't wait.

So it's still "just an announcement" and no way to look more into it?

You can't reserve your name yet, they are still releasing the information. That's all we know.

Yes what a lot of crap I thought. You know what I think a good initiative would be by EA:

Fix the game I have already bought and paid for (BF2). Don't shovel me some token content for the next game which I won't even buy given the hash you made of the first one.

Yet another reason I won't be buying EA much anymore :)

They are working on it. If you played the beta then you could see for yourself that they fixed the crashing to desktop problems. With that said, if you've played more than 50 hours in BF2 then you have already gotten your moneys' worth just like everyone else. Pateince, the patch should be out soon.

                    Re: Veterans Program?

As we promised in our last newsletter, DICE is pleased to announce the details surrounding the Veterans Program — our way to reward loyal Battlefield 2 players who are planning to play Battlefield 2142.

Players who have logged time with BF2 will be able to log onto the Battlefield website and reserve their Battlefield 2 name for Battlefield 2142 before lamers can squat on it.

Veterans status will also provide players with several other items including the following:
An exclusive war dance animation that you can use in-game to taunt/pwn other players

An in-game notification icon that lets other players know that you had a tour of duty in Battlefield 2

An instant promotion that will be available the first time you log onto the game.
This will let you choose from several weapons and gadgets right off the bat—from a Herzog shotgun attachment to your assault rifle to a V5 EMP grenade available to the support class…and more.

Be sure to check back often for more news surrounding the Veteran's Program so that you can get in on the ground level.

How many hours do you think you need logged?

I thought it had something to do with hours and having all the expansions. I really have no idea what the requirements were to be considered a "Veteran," as I am not, so don't take this as gold.
Someone also mentioned you simply had to subscribe to the newletter. I don't know about that.

                            Well wtf.

I've had my account since Multiplayer Demo. I have the SF, EF, and AF. I have 500 or so hours played and well over a year's time.

                            No email.

Hell, I even have almost an hour in a parachute ffs!

Who set that criteria? I don't remember seeing anything on the box stating "50 hours worth of game time equates to services redered for exchange of money".

I also wasted about 10+ hours at various points troubleshooting the game, reinstalling windows, and upgrading what was in all reality a perfectly fine graphics card. In my 20+ years of PC gaming I have NEVER experienced that before.

Sure this is a great game, but its excecution and support have been the most woeful I have experienced, especially for a game that is so popular and has sold so many copies.

And that, my friend, is why EA can stick 2142 up their arse.
