I can understand where people struggle with ROE is when they buy the game and its still in the packet no where does it say or mention the BF2 ROE. When you buy a server for BF2 with hard earnt cash you have the option to have it ranked or not and no where do you see the BFROE.

Its like me doing 75mph in a 75mph zone and getting booked because the law changed to make it a 50mph zone and someone forgot to change the signs.

It just so happens i agree with more or less everything the BF2ROE represents. I love the law BFROE brings to the game as i promote fair play and so does the clan i lead but i think better future preperation and a "warning on the box" would better justify stats being reset.

In regards to ranked servers and not knowing about the BF2ROE....

Im sorry but I would have to call any one who didnt thouroughly research into what they where about to spend 90+ dollars a month on a IDIOT.....

Besides inst EA dropping all support, according ot EA UK they are even going to wind down the ranked server promotions....

It sure does. When you are making an account to play online/during install, and by pressing "Accept" you automatically accept the terms and conditions which are stated or linked to there. In the terms and conditions it says that if you do not agree with them to return the game for a refund immediately. It states no breaking the rules set forth by the authorities, etc..

I could care less about statpadders. Either they get busted, or they don't. I agree, more or less, with most of what the ROE says, although it's not always clear. The biggest problem I have with the ROE is exactly what somebody else mentioned about the lack of anything included with the game advising noobs of the existance of the ROE. I would wager that there are a fair amount of people playing this game that have never even heard of the ROE. Yet, one day they decided that a Pistol/Knife server sounded fun like the old bashfest days in COD and joined that server. Next thing they know...their stat are reset. I think that maybe when EA, or whoever the powers that be are, catch a player playing in one of these servers, an official warning should be sent to the player advising them of the rule breaking, directing them to the ROE, and warning that the next time they are caught, their stats will be reset. Then nobody will have any excuse when their stats are reset for statpadding. At least this way makes sure that everybody who does end up with their stats reset was given the opportunity to correct their ways, and given the opportunity to look at the ROE if they haven't ever seen or heard of it before.

Has it occured to you that 90+ dollors in my eyes may be a small sum to pay to get this much entertainment? You buy a GAME in a packet unopened no where does it say on the box "read the ROE at eagames.com". When i buy a server no where does it say "agree to the ROE at eagames.com".

Like i said before Im not knocking the ROE its a great idea. I hope in BF2142 they advertise the ROE initially in the Terms and Agreement to justify stats being reset. I support ROE and my clan does also.

BUT if my knowledge was limited on a PC but i enjoyed playing BF2 - and i wasnt in a clan, and i had no team members to talk too but gradually over time my rank built up nicely and one day i went and played in a K&P server and got my stats reset because of it - id be pretty pissed off and never play the game again! I would THEN start thinking alot harder about investing $90+ dollors on a product made by eagames.

Statistics has spoild this game! A team mate who has been with us for years fell out with us over statistic. He purchused his own server only to abuse it to help with his own statistics. He was removed form the clan. He had a choice - Stats or his team mates. He chose stats. Stats get in the way of what battlefield offers. Maps are won and lost because of stats - not actual gameplay. All this BFROE is over stats! No one would complain if there was nothing to gain.

By the way Royal - i agree with you totally this is only a game and a second chance is something everyone in the game deserves. We offered our team mate a second chance - he blew it.

Hi people,

i am new here so a big hello to you all.

i was in clan server the other day and was only guy near the jet on wake island and jumped in and got rdy for take off, next thing a freindly jeep came zooming down runway and crashed into me, i got team vehicle damage and died, the nest thing was that the admin booted me, musta been him in the jeep, there where no rules saying admins only in jets or anything. I do not let myself get annoyed by this so just logged onto diff server.

I am an admin from Hungary from th Doctors Rise clan we have a very big problem here in hungary!!! The EA games dont give us the hungarian 1.4 ranked patch so we got no servers about one month ago. We called EA Games and wrote them about 999999999 e-mails but they dont answer if they answer they say we are workind on it! One month ago??? The 1.4 patch was released at september the 5th!!!! Today is the 2nd October!!!! Have here anybody any Ideas??? We tried everything what we could.

Its really annoying to find a server with the map you want to play and then find its a pistol/knife/shock paddle server. I havent gotten all day to report the lot of them to bf2roe.com or any where else as I would actually like to play sometime.

I don't think they can 'fix' the game much more than it already has been apart from rewriting the code all together and re-selling it. Not gonna happen. Making it a fair game to play and eliminating cheats and padders is something they can do and they should. Pity they did'nt advertise new PB updates that do random scans of the top 10 scorers in each round to discourage the use of hacks. Nobody would know if it were true or not.

The words are good... but what we need to see from EA is action.

If they are serious about this, there simply should be NO ranked servers listing as either Knife/pistol or High Points.

My understanding is that if everyone agrees to knife/pistol only, then its okay.. With that in mind, a server admin cannot ban/punish you for using 'nades or other weapons or you can report him to EA.

The idea being that you cannot FORCE such rules on a server.

I would have to agree with the stat padding servers. I was on Saturday night (5-26-07) there was an actual ranked server that advertised it was a stat padding server. Its not much obvious than that. I would have to agree with the others on the clan stacking. If the clans help donate for that server then I feel they should be able to play together. Just my opinion. Have a good one

This thread is obsolete. There is no such thing as an ROE, it doesn't apply to server admins. Its time to nuke it.

I couldn’t disagree with you more. Although there are several thousand servers to go to a player is often limited to a few options, by ping time response, often based on the users location and the number of servers close to them within the system. Thusly, often the number of servers that have open slots further limits his choices.

I’ve fallen victim to these players on several servers and it isn’t fun. It destroys my stats while rewarding cheaters. (Just one more form of cheat that Punkbuster can’t catch and I love my Purple Heart.)
If BF2 is to remain a viable, competitive game, EA must take actions to protect its scoring integrity.

Additionally the only legitimate reason I can think of for a clan to rent a server is to practice sight un-seen (otherwise why not play on their own server for free?) and why do they need a ranked server to “just practice” or play one another? :shakehead:
