Well right now its summer time and Grade 12 doesnt start until September. My last job ended in July and I am in the process of getting one by atleast fall. But until that happens, its BF2! Along with alot of other things. Seriously though, u dont need to devote life to BF2 to be high rank. If each round (that I play) lasts around 20 mins, and I get 50 pts, thats 100 in 40 mins. U can achieve 500 pts (a reasonable amount in one day) after playing just 10 rounds. Its not as if we play many hours straight.

Are you saying people should do things they don't like in their free time?

As someone who works all day on computers and plays a lot (maybe not as much as used to). It's diffrent, looking at emails, documents, spreadsheets and fixing pc's is nothing like playing bf2.

My wife always ask's how can you sit at your desk all day at work and come home and play on the computer all night....doh....cause I can't play on my work computer all day silly.

But soccer season is starting backup so my playing is going to be cut down to maybe an hour a night. Back to the grind of coaching, taking one daughter to softball, driving over to the soccer fields....back to softball... Sounds like a lot but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Nothing better then watching you children excel in something they love to play.

I play about 20 hours a week. Since I got the game last year in June 2005, I've played a little over 1000 hours total, which is about 2.5 hours a day.

Obviously, there are days some dont play at all, then there are days I'm off the whole day with nothing to do so I play a good 5 or 6 hours.

It all depends on what people do. Over the summer I've been able to play a bit more with no classes, but next month I go back to college, so it will go down some.

Also, I say no to girlfriends, they are just a waste of hard earned cash. :p

ok lets say i play 20 hours a week that could probably get me about 4,000 global points now that i have discovered the map strike at karkand. 20 hours a week means playing 5 hours on weekend days and only 2 hours on week days. i still have time to get a life and within a year i would reach 200,000 points.

Well I just made 1st Lieutenant, have played for 853 hrs which is an average of 2.07 a day. In the last 31 days I have played for 6 of those days totalling 54hrs.

I would say probably 1/3 of my hours have been spent solely admining the server. If we didn't have a server then I probably would have less than 500hrs and would have stopped playing months ago.

I play less and less now it just doesn't do it for me anymore.

But to play as a sniper all the time would have to be the slowest way to rank up. I have 31k team points, you don't get stuff all team points as a sniper.

Here is another way of looking at it - something that may cause some of you to breathe a sigh of relief...lol.

Consider the types of personalities/psychologies that are obsessive enough to spend that much time on a single game.

Consider also if they didn't have a game like BF2 to obsess about.

Consider the impact on the local communities if these obsessive-compulsive individuals were out there in society among the rest of us?

I think that EA should add a "therapeutical surcharge" to their games - it works like a daycare-center for the troubled individuals out there. It's a virtual Arkham Asylum.

...some of us are actually grateful..lol.

                  Cheers :-)

                    LOL!!!

So true. Better to have them playing BF2 8 hours a day, then say...jacking my car?

                    LOL!

                    That's great.

Get a hobby? Does gaming not count as a hobby? What's the difference with collecting stamps or going out every day or tune your car or LaRP or reading?

There are other people who spent the same amount of time on other things, only they don't have a tracker so people like you can't judge what they are doing. I rather have a boyfriend spending time at BF2, so I can join him or observe, than one that spends all his money and time on a car or in a bar or something like that.

I don't think it's up to you to judge that. There's enough already that we're supposed to do or don't, imagine that we would have to live our complete lives to the standards of others...

And no, I'm no great player and have a bad k/d ratio. But again, I ask myself why you should judge that others may not live their lives the way they want. Considering the time you spent on tracking them and ranting about how they don't have a life, I would say, get a life yourself. But hey, it's your time, you're free to do as you want.

I have played about 320 hours and my rank is 2nd lt like some of these guys said its not about how long you play but how you use the time you have when playing. On most servers I average 70 and above as my stats show and I have a wife and child but I get up at 5am with my 1 year old and I have 2 hours to burn before I go to work so i use those two hours to play bf2 :)

To the op I'm a 2nd Lieutenant with 649.23 hours of ranked play (I've got a lot more doing mod/custom maps) and I've had the game since day one actually the account i use is what i created for the demo. Anyway my highest number of hours in a day for playing this game was 16 or 17 hours straight (the Mrs was away ) my biggest break from playing the game is literally months I've skipped an entire patches because it crashed my machine and left it locked up at the blue screen of death. I virtually don't watch TV except for stargate SG1 & atlantis and battlestar galactica (only the new series) that's roughly 60 hours of TV a year and i don't drink because i become violent with it. Also i don't eat in restaurants because I've work in the trade and i know exactly what goes on in a kitchen when its going under (cant keep up with the orders) and theres no way I'm eating that crap. So anyway theres loads of different people out there living completely different life styles and for all those that want to play a game let em. Its better than going out having a couple of drinks someone looking at you funny and then you beating them half to death or doing loads of drugs basically its better to be a fat geeky than lunatic IMO.

regrettable as it may seem, everyone judges everybody on anything and everything. That is the only way concepts such as "values", "morals", "opinions" are created.

                            Cheers :-)
