I'll make a long story short here and any help will be greatly appreciated. A while ago i reformatted my comp and had BF running flawlessly, the best it ever had. If standing alone im getting 85-100fps with all but 3 settings on high. If in combat or in vehicles im getting 50-80 which is perfectly acceptable until yesterday. I got home from work and decided to do some regular maintenance. i defragged, ran ad aware, deleted cache files from BF2 mod folder and rebooted. Upon entering the game I noticed that it looked ok still, but definitely different, so i check the fps and im seeing 40-50 when alone and right around a constant 30 in combat. I had literally played on the good numbers hours earlier so im fairly confused as to why anything I did would cause a change like this.
Oh, and one more thing I did was download and use xfire to play with a friend. Anyway, while still playable this is very annoying because the high frames are the sole reason I spent 1500 to make this rig. Plz help!!!
My setup:
Radeon x800xl
3.4ghz P4
2 gigs kingston ddr
win xp sp2
intel mobo and asus psu........thats all that should matter
