and M95 is fine as it is imo, i mean sniping in this game aint too hard anyway, no real bulelt dip, and no wind.
I watched Miami Vice yesterday and i think they had a barrat sniper rifle in that (wasnt sure cos it was dark in the scene). Anyway, some guy gets shot with it and his arm flies off. I think in terms of game balance it would be ridiculous to make the m95 as powerful as it is on infantry in real life. snipers with it would destroy whole teams! I like that it damages heli's and stuff and think it should remain as it is.
I've heard a lot of people saying the M95 is too weak. "It's too hard to aim for the head." And then the famous response to any BF2 weapon or anything. "It's not the same as it would be in real life." Well that's true but wake up people in real life people aren't made of sand. If the M95 was at the same power in real life as it was in the game. The person would bleed to death not an instant kill. You can pretty much get instant kills with that. If they've been nipped by a grenade, lost half their health in a firefight, or they can't press 9 to jump off 8 foot ledges, they'll die. What it's not good for is killing people right when they spawn before they start moving because you can't get a headshot right away.
People talk about shooting their pistol to finish someone off. But why not just fire 2 silenced pistol shots they'll probably not even noticed the little health that is gone and then boom M95 kill. You can rack up kills with this thing in firefights. Just shoot the targets your team has already engaged as long as they have the 2 health bars gone or whatever you'll get the kill. This just seems like another case of people complaing how things are too hard because they have to aim or use strategy for a kill.
Does anyone else thing the M95 is fine as it is?
its a case of extreme sniper rifle nerfing. yea fine, you think its ok, but for people that play with sniper rifles in every other game, it seems so pathetic. zoom level is crap..should be double. bullet drop is exagerated.. and the damage done is just silly..
and people wouldnt bleed to death in real life from an m95, they would die instantly as it would blow holes in people and take limbs off.
go search for the poll i made, over 90% of people werent scared of being shot at with a sniper rifle... now that says something to me...
u should not be able to survive a .50 cal round to the torso.
You shouldn't be able to cure bullet wounds with defibrilators either. And what's with this "respawning" thing?
M95 is best used to aid assaults, it's accurate enough at mid-range to consistently hit someone while just crouching, so just run around, take pot shots and the people skittering around, and rack up the kill damage assists. It's not the L96/M24, so just don't treat it like them and use it for its real advantage.

That's because all you need is one medic nearby and snipers become irrelevant. It's not hard to just HIT a target in BF2, especially with how wide open most maps are, how slow the players move, and how often people have to sit still to cover from something else or get a better shot.
An instakill sniper rifle would have made this a good deal LESS fun.

Well not many other games have good sniping where you actually have to aim for the head. In COD2 you can shoot someone in the foot with any bolt action rifle and they die instantly. About the comment about bleeding to death. I wasn't referring to the real M95. I was saying if the real M95 was underpowered to the same level of damage as in the game people would just not die instantly but by bleeding to dealth. BF2 is not the worst game even for the M95. In the Delta Force games it basically worked exactly like an SVD.
1. A 50caliber round can shoot threw a tank but in bf2 it can't even kill a person with one shot unless it's in the head. Thats why im buying Operation Flash Point 2

Actually the .50 hasn't been able to penetrate tank armour since a little after it was introduced. By the early years of WWII tanks were impervious to anti tank rifles, even the massive 20mm ones.
The Stryker vehicles used in Iraq at the moment is proof against the .50cal.
Some attack copter frontal glass is also proof against a .50cal.
